Sasquatch is always around, but sighting in Ohio are rare.  They even have TV shows dedicated to him, even though to date I've never seen one hanging in anyone's deer camp photo's.  You'd think at a minimum with all the modern technology available we'd have one an trail cam by now.......LOL

We thought there was one on a pic at our deer camp one time until we figured out it was just a member that had been there all week without a shave and bath.:laffs:

Sightmark/ Sellmark

Tried their R-Spec red dot reflex, we put them on 2 different AR 40 builds, one at least has been off and back on, still holding zero and using the same battery they came with. Only flaw I can find is the retical change lever can move, happened once, but moved it back still zero.

Looking at some of their scopes, pretty much have about 100 different options from 1-4×20 to 10-40×60. Can't find much bad said about them, other then they don't quit match up with scopes costing 5x as much. Might skip one of the goto brands and try one next time, maybe one of their 1-10×24s.

I had a Sightmark red dot it was junk and it was a long time ago. Couldn't lock down sight adjustment.

As a test, right after I got the 45-70 and came up with my handload - I put the XS sight rail and sights on it, and tossed a Primary Arms mini red dot on there.  I wanted to see how long the dot would last under that recoil.  That was December 2015.  That red dot is still on there, with 700 rounds through the rifle...   Shocks the shiit outta me...   :hail:

This optic, and primary arms (at least their dots) are made by holosun.

Holosun was actually able to disclose that at SHOT last year, based in the fact that there's not an NDA on file with PA.  I specifically asked them (the Holosun Rep) about that, and praised the PA red dot performance on the 45-70 to him...  VERY WELL DONE, my man!

My direct follow-up question was "Do you make the SIG red dots?..."  The answer I got was, "I cannot disclose that information, based on a possible NDA..."   He was smoooooth...  :laffs:

There was no denial, but based on the "lack of confirmation" or the inability-to-confirm - Holosun makes the SIG red dots, and there's an NDA in place...

Busted?...   In a way?...   :lmao:

NC Star....... Wait for it. .....

Scopes.....

Not the super cheap ones but ,but , ones starting at $79. Are actually pretty good 👍. I have a $125 scope on the Win70 300wsm that has taken 400 to 500 rounds of abuse. Yet it still works, and that kicks like a donkey ! Their 6 x 24 Scopes at $150 and $179 have all the features of $300 to $400 Nikon's . These are not Nightforce quality but they hold zero.

Oh I have gone through some cheap Scopes. Blown a few lesser brands in less than a magazine on a 308 gun or two. Lol ! Haven't Fu¢ked up any NC Star Scopes yet. Knock on wood.

Im pretty sure i have read a few articles online that said as much, so so much for their nda, everybody knows.

I mean lets be honest, when it says "made in china" on it, you had better hope its made by holosun!

As far as nc star... thats bold. Lol im not hardly willing to gamble on optics, im amazed i was able to buy a red dot that wasnt aimpoint, trijicon, or leupold... its a crazy world we live in!

I've used quite a few uppers and lowers from Anderson and never had any kind of problem with any of them! You'll never get me to buy one of their barrels again though. I got a 16" 308 barrel from them that was a P.O.S.! Tom can attest to that, he saw the 100 yd. 6" groups it shot at the fall shoot a couple of years ago. That barrel is on my work bench now, I use it for a pry bar and it's not much better as a pry bar than it was as a barrel!:lmao:
