I just added everything to my cart at PRI, for the parts I'll need (from them) to do my 300BLK build...  It's about $787.  And another 46 cents.  That's just handguard, top rail, iron-sighting...  :o

In FDE, of course.  ;D

That's no lower, upper, barrel, BCG, optic,...  nothing but upper handguard parts...    :-[

When i added up my Mk12 mod 0, it totaled up to 4 grand*, i added it again and again, and i couldn't believe that i spent that much on a .223 AR...

It's actually a Chip McCormick (CMC). It's a single stage 4# trigger.

Good looking build there, hoping to hear a report on that LOKI barrel soon. Almost seems a shame to cover up that nice fluted barrel.  Looks like you cut it pretty close with that front sight block, any further forward and I think your comp might have been working on the bottom of the sight block.

Yeah, I was worried about that too. I was prepared to take mill off the first two picatinny slots, if needed. If you go to page1 you'll see how much I had milled off the original gasblock already. My buddy hit it with a coat of Cerakote for a perfect finish.

You can't see from pictures too well, but the BABC is actually recessed into the gasblock. Even after I had the gb milled, the BABC was still hitting it. I used my rotary tool to make a relief just barely large enough to pass.

Seeing the compact 300 setup makes me feel like I "need" one too. I'd love to try one of these barrels out. I'm just torn, do I start buying parts for a different project, when I still need to get a trigger, buffer and bolt carrier for my currant .308 build, or do I feed my family?  Hmmm...... maybe  I could just buy the barrel to hold on to, Yeah thats the ticket.

My short 30 cal has a 12" barrel. I like how the short barrel feels.

50 yards

-5 rounds standing

-10 rounds sitting at a bench

Sorry I didn't have time to set up for accuracy. This was more for speed. This was also my first time at this range and I wasn't properly prepared. The rest of my rounds were spent shooting a diet coke can.

(there's a few rounds on the far right that crept in from shooting the 7.62x39)
