Exactly.  Let's stick to the point of the thread, which is a new barrel, never before been seen.  Not about swaging 230gr 45s down, or 45-70 loads, or projectiles can't protrude into the case, and all the bullshiit distractions.  :thumbup:

So, I called KAK today.  Talked to an amazing lady on the phone, and asked her about this barrel.  She told me that she really didn't know, and there wasn't anybody there that could correctly answer me on the 1:5" twist.  She DID however tell me that all barrel designs and specs are determined by the owner, and I COULD email him directly and talk to him about it.

So I did.

My email:

"I just noticed a new 12.5" midlength gas barrel on your website, this one is 416R stainless and has a 1:5" twist rate.  Is that twist rate on that barrel to overstabilize 75 and 77 heavies to get more distance out of a 12.5" barrel?

His answer:

Stabilize longer bullets but most to help them expand and destabilize on impact for better wounding
