98Z5V Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 If it's already too late, and you can't find anything, and prices are through the roof - and you now NEED an AR-15...Have Daniel Defense build you one. You can custom order a rifle from them, and current reports are that you'll have it in a couple weeks - like, more than one week, but probably around TWO WEEKS. DD has not marked up their prices, they are not gouging, and it's the same as it always was. Now, DD has a specific page on their website set up for this. You go to the page, identify how you want your rifle built, and finish the process. THERE IS A RESTRICTION ON THIS... DD only takes the orders that they can complete THAT DAY, and they shut the page down. The page goes active again at 12am (midnight) for the next day's orders. Once those are filled, it shuts down again, until midnight, again. You'll get a damn high quality rifle, and great customer support, and a great guarantee. You'll get what you want.Hit the page now (during the day), and it's already shut down. Hit it up again at midnight, and it's active - I don't know if it will be active tonight, because I'm pretty sure they're closed tomorrow...https://danieldefense.com/build-your-ddm4
98Z5V Posted December 31, 2012 Author Report Posted December 31, 2012 Likewise, if you're one that will do this, you will probably be short on time in "making your configuration" when that order page opens up. Do your homework, do your recon, plan what you want.Have your barrel picked out, have your rail picked out, cruise the DD website and make informed choices ahead of time. There are no "bad parts" from DD. There really isn't something on there that would "let you down," or break, because you didn't select the more expensive option, at the time.I suggest this, at least for a barrel - the 16" midlength gas, LW profile, 1:7 twist. That will be a great shooting barrel, handle all ranges of ammo you can find, will be accurate, and is a good compromise between barrel length, mobility, and range. WIth a good 14.5" barrel, you can knock stuff down at 600 yards (training would be the limiting factor in that), so... Additionally, that barrel is in stock right now. For how long, who knws, but it's there now.Good luck. <thumbsup> <thumbsup>
Matt.Cross Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 Good information brother, I'm going to sticky this.
98Z5V Posted December 31, 2012 Author Report Posted December 31, 2012 Thank you, Matt - very, very much. I hope this helps someone here.
unforgiven Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 You are the man brother <thumbsup> Probably the first anyone has heard.DD fuk yea. <thumbsup>
Robocop1051 Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 I can vouch for the DD CHF 14.5" midlength LW (.625). I put a BC v1.5 on mine.
Rsquared Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 DD makes damn fine equipment. Not surprised to see that they're not taking advantage of the current situation. They know that they make quality stuff. I've had a typical 16" M4 for quite some time that I use as a "beater". The damn thing might as well say Timex on the side of it.
edgecrusher Posted January 1, 2013 Report Posted January 1, 2013 Good find, they were my one of my choices for an sbr with there mk18. Quality stuff at the right price!
98Z5V Posted January 1, 2013 Author Report Posted January 1, 2013 It's up, and active, right now - so, they're taking upper orders and complete rifle orders, right now. <thumbsup>Took me a couple times to get on there, but it went to it.
98Z5V Posted January 1, 2013 Author Report Posted January 1, 2013 It's down again - didn't last long. I honestly didn't keep track of the correct time, but it was about an hour from when I checked it. <thumbsup>
unforgiven Posted January 1, 2013 Report Posted January 1, 2013 Looks like it starts @ 12 midnight EST.That is a great way to put out a great product. <thumbsup>
Madhouse Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 Down now due to SHOT show... Back on 01/22
