USMCbassman
How's everyone been? Sorry, I've been a stranger I was at a "survival" school courtesy of the USMC/USN for the last couple of weeks! Some of the best damn training I never want to do again...LOL! I haven't made any progress on my build, everything has slowed way down as the wife and I are trying to purchase a home. Shoot, I've even been considering selling my IH Scout as I can't even do anything with it and it just sits there. I just tell myself once we have a house bought things will change...we'll see  Hope you all have been well and bass fishing season is among us :D

98Z5V
That's wrong, Matt - trying to get me into more financial ruin - I'd rather see pics of some of the bullpoopy he had to eat, once "really hungry..."
Matt.Cross
That's wrong, Matt - trying to get me into more financial ruin - I'd rather see pics of some of the bullshit he had to eat, once "really hungry..." I had no such intentions! Given my similar affinity for older awesome trucks, I think of them as children that deserve a loving home where they will be well treated and dearly beloved.... and I know that you are a prime candidate who deserves the happiness it would bring you. Your accusations are baseless, unfounded, speculative, pejorative, hurtful, and mean... and true... :P Edited March 22, 2013 by Matt.Cross

USMCbassman
LOL, glad to see things never change! I'll post up a pic or two of the Scout, gotta locate them first. Everything I ate in school wasn't that bad. I went 36 hours without food and then we got a rabbit and had some stew. I then went another 48 hours without food and after that we were finished. I had some sardines and rice before the initial 36 hour period without food. It wasn't that bad.

98Z5V
Club the furry little FDE bastards. Or snare them. If you sneak up on them, on a hill, they'll face downhill and freeze - WHACK!
planeflyer21
No crap. Was trying to get my pitbull to get a rabbit that was laying frozen under a creosote bush...practically had to shove his nose on it. Finally it went from frozen to full-speed. After he startled straight up in the air, he did a Bugs Bunny burnout until his feet finally got traction...by that time the rabbit was 30 yards away. imschur
I just watched Hop...I wanted that little bastard DEAD as fuck. In general I like bunnies better than I like most people, I like possums and racoons too for that matter. They dont steal my shit and they work all day, never call in sick and provide for their families. Cant say that about the other animals around here. City life has jaded me. shepp
Hunted the poop outta rabbits in my teens, we used beagles to run them. Mom used to BBQ them or make pot pie with them
imschur
In my yout, north of New Yorks Adirondacks h I used to see a few guys hunting snowshoe rabbits with beagles. They would hunt the snowmobile trails. Im not sure why but in the area the rabbit population disappeared from a high in the mid 70's until almost nothing a decade later. Looking back a lot of the wildlife, grouse, quail, bobcats all disappeared in that time frame.
BLKSHEEP
I was hoping for a funny story about a bunch of starving devil dogs surrounding him and trying to club the fucker, Snare? home made bow & arrow? A solo club job is very low odds, been there done that :D
98Z5V
I've been highly successful smackin' 'em. Did a great winter warfare rotation in Alaska in 1996, part of that 3-month festivity was living in a snowcave for a week. I went undefeated against the rabbits, but some of the other guys sucked at smacking them. They loved the base of trees - just walk downhill, slowly approach a tree, and there's one in there... WHACK!

I don't think yall have them up north but when the red ants moved into the south they destroyed the Quail eggs and some turkeys also. Coons, fox, hogs & yotes also destroy nest. And on top of all that the government was spraying that DDT? that was harming birth rates of many animals.
planeflyer21
I worked for this lady that had pet horses...take her out to her ranch twice a day and feed the dogs and horses. About once a month we would get a hay shipment. At one point the rabbit population was so high that when the hay would be delivered in the morning, looking like a large block structure, by the time we got out for the afternoon feeding the hay would be rounded off on all the edges and corners. We'd come pulling up and rabbits would go flying off the hay stack in a couple of hundred different directions. One guy put one of the Crosman pump-up target pellet pistols in the trunk with some pellets. After a few got killed the rabbits soon learned they could sit at about 50' and watch the pellets tumble up. I put a Daisey pump-up rifle in the car trunk with some flat point wad cutter pellets. The rabbits moved out to about 100', same thing...watch the pellets tumble up to them. Then I went and got some of the pointy "magnum" pellets, which the shooter could lob as far as you could see a rabbit. Everyone started averaging around 5 rabbits per trip. A few of us would hunt rabbits while the lady watched her horses. The dogs ate good for a couple of months. Jon
USMCbassman
Little bunny foo-foo got a nice club to the back of the head. You hit 'em just right and they crumple like a sack of feed. If not you grab the body and head then twist in opposite directions. The really seems to finish the job up. I'll eat damn near anything or try it at least once. I haven't eaten much that I don't like. I tried grilled eggplant the other night and that poop was gross! If I was hungrier than a hostage and that's all I had I'd eat, but I won't it eat it by choice anymore. Sorry guys it took me so long to respond, been busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest.

USMCbassman
Rest assured I didn't pay for it. Well, I did pay for the egg plant at the store. It started out as a joke between the wife and I then I couldn't let it go to waste. Granted I threw it all away after the first bite. Yes, I agree though I don't understand or see how anyone could pay for it. It smelled good when I was slicing it up.
