I’d feel better about it if there was a contrasting color. Something to help the pistons “pop” a bit more would be nice.

He totally forgot - as a Rappeller, he needs to control his descent, with his belay hand.  The Belay Control dude on the ground is only there to help you, arrest your descent if necessary...

Interesting story, though - I've bounced, from 52 feet up.

Sadly I've come across a lot worse and more dangerous, this at least has a switch

My money says he's greased his breaks to prevent squeaking or rusting up

The height must be the secret to the bounce, mine was 2 stories and apparently my landing was described as a lump of mash potatoes hitting the kitchen floor both in sound and appearance

Thank God Rangers have standards.  18" minimum of sawdust in the pit.  I free-dove out of a 52-foot tower, supermanned that dive, and landed flat.  I bounced so hard I landed back up directly on my feet.  And that was for a demonstration...

NOT intentional.

Sawdust would have been nice, mine was plywood :embarrassed:

I've been fucked up alot, in life.  "Hit by a Helicopter" is a good campfire story.

I'm still here, though.  Somehow.   God loves me for some reason, I can't figure it out.   :hail:
