98Z5V
I need to get Taz in this thread - he and I got into the M109R engines in 2007, big time. We bought a "spare engine" just to tech out, and find improvements - it was tough. At one point, there was one of our engines that layed down 161hp, with all-stock bottom internals. We were gunning for a Hp figure that would kick the $hit out of a V-Rod Destroyer. Those of you that don't know what the Destroyer is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harley-Davidson_VRSC#VRXSE:_V-Rod_.22Destroyer.
planeflyer21
What's that sound now? Sounds like crickets waiting for the "Once you get past the imported parts (and factory in India), Harleys are the American bike! LalalalalalalalalalalanotlisteningtoVictorylalalalalalalala!" response. :hornet: <laughs>
survivalshop
This is just an example of a small HD motor. I know yours is bigger than mine , this could go on & on on who's the fastest , but riding ,for most, doesn't come down to how fast. This can go tit for tat all day long . I have a 48 Harley , I win, in length of duty <laughs>

392heminut
Well, since the V-Rod WAS brought up, if you'll notice, the V-Rod IS the only v-twin engine being used competitively in NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle up to this season (the Buells just haven't done very good). I can't say for sure that that is the case this season since I haven't watched any racing at all so far this year. Also, NHRA has added weight to the V-Rod bikes almost every year to keep all those metric bikes competitive! I'm a dyed in the wool Harley nut, but personally if I couldn't afford one I wouldn't have any problem with cruising a Yamaha or Suzuki v-twin. CMMG308
If You don't mind I'll add these. Here's a few from My collection. The Dresser is a 1992 FLHTCU with a 120ci 130hp motor with a 48mm Carb and a 6 speed Trans. The Blue one is a 1956 FL Panhead 77ci Motor with a lot of internal work and a 4 speed Trans. ( It's Won 9 bike Shows between 90-96) It took 1 1/2 years to Build and 3 months to pay for Chrome and Gold Plating. Still looks almost as good Today as it did then. Pictured below it is My Wife's 98 Softail Springer. My self and a Co-worker getting ready to test ride Sheriff's Bikes after working on them. (before Retirement) The primer Trike is a 1953 Servi-car Metermaid Bike 47ci Motor with a lot of internal work and a 3 speed Trans. Under construction but can be riden as is. On the floor is the 120ci Motor for the Dresser. There's a couple more but I don't have pictures that will post. CMMG308
shibiwan, enjoy that trail bike and don't forget the rifle Scabbard on the front end, Thanks for the Compliments. <thumbsup> Here are Pictures of when I Bought it in 1981. The 1st one is in the Garage where it Burned the next is when I got it Home after a couple cans of easy-off oven cleaner at the car wash. The 3rd Picture is My latest Build. When I put the 120ci motor in My Dresser I had good 80ci motor and that was the start of My Wife's New Springer. Yes that's Our living room. There's no room left in the Garage for assembly and She didn't complain until I started it in the House and took it out the front door. I think just about every motorcycle rider who works on his own bike has worked on his bike in the house at some point. I studded two set of ice tires in mine and we parked our bike in the duplex for the winter one year Edited August 7, 2014 by shepp

98Z5V
175HP and 150TQ here we come!!! Taz ^^^ HELL YEAH!... Sad thing is, I know we can do that, too. Pod filters, $hitcan the airbox, play with the injectors - and everything else that's already been done. RAWTAZ
@98Z5V Just got this from John. He has put a +10 swing arm in the 14. Expecting high 4,s tomorrow with 14 an high 7,s in the 1/4 AFTER we ride it to the track. No poop.... Johns 10 was at 8:00000000 but never hit 7. But we realized 15k was to many rpm,s for springs to work very long so in next few weeks it i hope will be as fast as 14. 14 is making the ponys and TQ if we can put it down. Motor 278 Hp and 269 TQ on stingy dyno SAE 5. Bike has 150 shot with progressive controller and traction control hid in ecu. Hoping for big numbers. fornicate low 8,s. We gonna try an have real streetbikes u can ride anywhere an go 7,s an i wont stop till it happens Edited August 8, 2014 by RAWTAZ

98Z5V
That guys that TAZ quoted above... if you guys knew what he did for a living, you'd SHAT your pants. I'm very serious about that. That guy makes big horsepower for very big people... Ron, you need to get JR involved in the rebuild on the 109 engine. We know we can go 117 on the pistons, know how to get more lift on the cams, and the electronic stuff is easy now. Porting and valve work is done. We can probably taper-bore the throttle bodies from 56 to 58 - I don't know if you guys have tried that yet. Airbox needs to go. The power is there, we just need to get it out, and to the tire. Without nitrous. I can already see an entire forum of butthurt happening, somewhere else. <lmao>
RAWTAZ
From last night, Junior was on the 14. "By the way the bike broke the track record in ET and MPH both tonight and never really gave it All it had. On the down side its needs to come back out an be checked. LOL." The videos show the bike spinning the tire through 3rd gear in two runs. Not sure what they hurt, but I know he is using some valve float to get more air in the lungs. I am thinking he is throwing the valve to hard off the nose and may have bent a valve. Right now I think we have the right head and cam combo in the 109, any more lift and I think the ramp rate is going to be way to aggressive. The air box is defiantly in the way, what we know now is +8 HP without it on the Dyno. I have the pistons, need to check the clearances and check the valve reliefs. These pistons should be at 11.00 to 1 and the stockers are 10.5 to 1 so that will help too. The heads are flowing +20 HP from where we are right now, so I think we need to taper bore the TB for sure, scrap the Air Box, lighten up the bottom end and balance all of the new stuff. Also think I need to send out the Rods to get some Billet ones made and ARP Studs. What is new on the electronics I was never able to get a good working solution for altering the engine timing, think there will be some in that for sure. My hope is to have my hip replaced and some light surgery on my back and the bike back together for Bike Week 2015. Gonna need your help to pull it off for sure. We need to talk about the rods and how many I should order, I have six pistons. So I am thinking about just getting six rods to start. That entire forum is still just trying to figure out how to put the right air kit on the bike, LOL.
