shibiwan
SOLAR ROADWAYS!! http://www.solarroadways.com/ Actually, I think these would be great for my backyard. Kids would definitely love it and would make great paving around the pool I wanna build eventually.
BigP623
I saw this yesterday and immediately thought, "Why didn't I think of this poop????". Do you realize the money our govt will pour into this if it is a viable technology?

98Z5V
Just imagine, in this power-hungry-government that we have now,... TOTAL GOVERNMENT CONTROL OF ALL ROADWAYS, PARKING LOTS, SIDEWALKS, AND DRIVEWAYS. I'll pass.

98Z5V
Hell, they're doing it right now, and we see it everyday. And we do nothing. You KNOW they'll get their hands in the pot, with "grants" and such, then let us have it! Al Gore invented the internet, so you KNOW OBummer will say he "pioneered the current solar technology..." Harry Reid will be in there somewhere, too, making BA-JILLIONS. Edited May 27, 2014 by 98Z5V
StainTrain
The .gov can't even maintain asphalt and concrete.....so I am guessing letting them maintain a solar road would be like entrusting calculus homework to a toddler.
98Z5V
What makes me think they'd jump in there with BOTH FEET, looking for "revenue," is the way they treat rainwater right now. I have my own property, I put rainwater catch-barrels under spouts - and some county, city, state or federal entity comes after me for "stealing" rainwater? Fuk you, it fell on MY property... Them trying to tell me differently means they control the weather, so they own the rights to the water that falls. Even if it's on my land. They're only argument is that they obviously control the weather, because they MADE it rain over my land, right? Otherwise, they can suck my jockstrap. They'll do it with solar roadways, bet yer arse - if it ever become more than a pipe-dream. The rainwater stuff is scary enough - Check out all the news on it: https://www.google.com/#q=rainwater+rights Check out the EPA, going after this guy for building a pond on his own property - can you imagine a fine of $75,000 PER DAY?! Watch the vid... http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/05/19/feds-target-private-pond/ That's not tin-foil stuff - it's happening right now. "Clean Water Act" will morph into "Assisted Solar Act" in short order, if Reid or this current Prez could find a way into it. We'd get the $hit taxed out of us. How low down does a guy have to be to arrest another man for collecting rain water? The pond situation is almost too bizarre to believe....but yes I believe it. planeflyer21
Just a matter of time before the whole "The state owns rainwater" backfires on them. As soon as the floods damage enough private property. Then they'll either have to lay claim to ALL property (the road government is on now) or drop the claim on rainwater (never gonna happen). DNP
Very true. Water rights are a tricky subject all around and these states could easily find themselves at fault for flood damage. I bet there's a ton of attorneys that will love that case. And yes, wen the King owns the land and all things on the land...we will just be grateful we had a place to sleep before the flood. They will just say its a Natural disaster & the suit will be thrown out , because they are not responsible for ND's .

That's the point SS...they have successfully claimed (and won in court) in Colorado and Oregon that the state owns rain. No matter where it falls, it belongs to the state and YOU the peon may not keep it from running its natural course. The proper legal term for "not our fault, it's a natural disaster" is "Act of God." The state(s) are at war with God...and now control the rain in two of them.
392heminut
A friend of mine told me this many years ago, something to ponder; "What makes you think you own any property to start with? WE don't own any property, the government does! If you don't think so, just quit paying your property taxes (rent) to the government and see how long it takes for them to evict you from the property you thought was yours!" Arizona still has a Homesteading law on the books. Protects your home against any and all claims up to $150,000 in value. No wonder double-wides are so dang popular here!
