Sisco Posted June 10, 2014 Report Posted June 10, 2014 CTD is offering a second source supplier for AR10B type magazines. I will be testing some. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/7-AR1020B
blue109 Posted June 10, 2014 Report Posted June 10, 2014 meh. CTD could offer me a rifle for $10 and I'd still tell them FOAD.

Rsquared Posted June 10, 2014 Report Posted June 10, 2014 You're only looking at saving about 15 bucks a mag. More than likely, they'll be Chinese made. And even more than likely......they'll fail on you. Stick with the Armalite mags dude. You get what you pay for.
Sisco Posted June 11, 2014 Author Report Posted June 11, 2014 I agreed to test them for another site. First thing I will be looking at is country of origin. Never had a problem with any of my 12 Armalite mags so you don't have to convince me. But they need to be evaluated.

Gotta wonder if there are gun people in other countries who will only buy US stuff on account of it's the best.
98Z5V Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 I won't buy from CTD based on the bull$hit they pulled about January of last year. Never in my life will they ever receive another dollar from me. I sure as hell hope alot of people never forget that.

I interrupt and say "I'll never buy anything from them, after the crap they pulled following Sandy Hook."
blue109 Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 (edited) I'd go so far as to say they single handedly started the false shortage. they listed PMAGS at $90 the moment the news hit. blood wasn't even dry yet. those dirtbags saw the news and jumped on the phone rubbing hands together with dollar signs in their eyes. scum. planeflyer21 Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 All I remember was within days people that had backorders for magazines with CTD said they were cancelled, and SURPLUS used GI AR magazines were priced at $99. IN THE NECK!! With a semi-sharp stick!
Rsquared Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 Couldn't agree more. Those guys are 100% dirtbags.
shibiwan Posted June 12, 2014 Report Posted June 12, 2014 LOL... this really defines the "Dirt" in Cheaper Than Dirt. <laughs>
survivalshop Posted June 12, 2014 Report Posted June 12, 2014 Problem was , they weren't Cheaper ,just dirty salesmanship . I agreed to test them for another site. First thing I will be looking at is country of origin. Never had a problem with any of my 12 Armalite mags so you don't have to convince me. But they need to be evaluated. Thats a rule here , you brought it up first , you have to buy & test , post photo's with the report . <laughs>

Sisco Posted June 14, 2014 Author Report Posted June 14, 2014 Got them in the mail today will take some pics tomorrow. Initial inspection has absolutely no country of manufacture stamped on them. Look to be an absolute clone of Armalite mags. Plastic bag has a label saying famous manufacturer AT10B magazines, and that is it. I know Matco makes tools, competes with a business model similar to Snap On tools. Don't know if it is the same company though. Will be disassembling and inspecting internals tomorrow.
Sisco Posted June 16, 2014 Author Report Posted June 16, 2014 Easiest review ever! Took them out of the bag to take some pictures, first thing I notice is that raised ridge running the full length of an AR10 magazine in back, is missing. Try to feed it in the mag well, loose and doesn't fit very well. Call CTD, give me return UPS label, will give refund, including shipping. Review: At this time, stick with Armalite.
Rsquared Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 Pretty much what I said. I could go down the "I told you so" route. But I'm a bigger man than that. <laughs>
j.peace Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 I'm glad I read this. I have never bought from ctd and the commie dirtbags will never get a Pennie from me

Sisco Posted June 17, 2014 Author Report Posted June 17, 2014 Whatever it proved it ended up costing me nothing to prove it so I could care less.
