That's no longer the case – researchers have eavesdropped on our internal monologue for the first time....." http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg22429934.000-brain-decoder-can-eavesdrop-on-your-inner-voice.html The sh!t they're figuring out how to do these days.... Edited October 30, 2014 by AdamO

jtallen83
No hat needed yet from what I read, just don't let anyone implant any wires in your brain! Wouldn't matter for me, I usually end up saying what I think anyway, hasn't worked out so well when it comes to getting along at work............... Rsquared
^^^^ You and me both brother. That's why I used to joke around with the guys on my mechanical crew, "welcome to the black sheep squad". Because I would say what I think to all of the higher up "suits". Shocker.....the upper echelon didn't like me a whole lot. So, in turn, they didn't like my guys either. But.......none of us really cared what they thought. And I always took care of my guys to the best of my ability.

MaDuce
They've been working on this stuff for a long time. The only surprise is that they aren't further along then they are. This technology is NOT compatible with a legal system that has any respect for basic human rights. The day politicians and courts start making laws and regulations in relation to what people are thinking as opposed to what they do and how they interact with PR is going to make the world an extremely unpleasant place to live in. Especially if there are any flaws in the technology. For example, if you were NEAR a homicide at the time it happened and knew all the people involved. If a detective asks you about it and you get a picture of the homicide taking place, even though just imaginary guess of what happened, you could find yourself charged with a murder you didn't commit. The day when they can read your thoughts word for word in full sentences and pull pictures from your thoughts is still a long way off. Good for us but bad for our children.

I live my life like that, all the time. The truth hurts some people. Some people need to hear those things, and that just sucks for them. Gets me in trouble here sometimes, but life is hard and you need to be strong to survive. <dontknow>
