Welcome to the forum officially. I thought I felt someone standing in the corner and not saying anything over the last couple of years. I also have a RRA LAR8. It is a great shooter. Try some 168gr or 175gr match ammo in it. There is a difference.

Can you post a picture of your rifle? What stock is on there now? It sounds like you have a rifle length buffer system and want to change to a carbine length. You will need an entirely different tube, buffer and spring. If that is correct, this will work.
