  1. Of a foot. And we use tenths and hundredths of feet…no inches. Tapes were flat steel and 200’ long.
  2. A side track, but made me think of it. Back when we used to use steel tapes on the regular for surveying, you had to apply a coefficient to adjust for expansion of steel above a certain temp. Those tapes would be pulled to a specific tension and you would multiply by .000001 or something in that ballpark times every degree of temp over 74 times your measurement and add that to your total. It’s funny how metal works. It’s also funny that we wasted our time with that crap when there are so many other sources of error.
  3. His name is mentioned in your article. John Hunter. Congressman Duncan Hunter’s (Sr.) brother.
  4. Remember the low level physics grade rocket scientist I mentioned? They built one of those the size of a small airfield…for launching xxxx into space. However, they still needed to increase the speed. That projectile they were launching was the size of a train car.
  5. I love it when a plan works out. Thanks for taking the time to come back and confirm it worked. This thread will help a lot of people out there who won’t ever wind up posting. Getting to hear that it worked for you will seal the deal and provide them with the confidence to give it a shot.
  6. There is some fun in Nov and I’ve heard flights are cheap right now. Come west.
  7. Sheesh. No credit for time served.
  8. Lol. I wish we lived closer. I’d pay good money just to sit on the sidelines and watch the shenanigans.
  9. Whoa whoa whoa…focus man. That was “next project”. Don’t stray from the current fun. All of this is way too much fun to watch though. You are a gifted man.

    Grilling

Should be about ready now…you might want to pull that off. looks mouthwatering already.
  11. Well, fancy it up as much as you’d like…I’m not looking for it to launch anything into space. I want it AR sized and capable of taking decent sized game. Fired by a gas a little more commonly available would be nice as well. No more derail. Back to wizardry.
  12. For your next project, a hydrogen gas gun. I once knew a rocket scientist developing a gun to fire satellites into space. I only got to see a bar napkin sketch of how it worked, but but the gas fired a piston that compressed air and the compressed air fired the projectile. Granted they were working with a gun the size of a small airfield, they were launching a watermelon seed shaped projectile at Mach 6-7. They were aiming to hit 9. Don’t quote me on the numbers…it’s been many years since I got this info. And it being on a bar napkin, there was likely alcohol involved.
  13. Wow. (Extra emphasis added as that’s said by a Californian)
  14. I sure hope Behhhhty survived the incident! seriously though, Hope you’re up and better soon.
  15. How do they treat air rifles? By definition, this should not be a firearm…right?
  16. It’s just a social score card. Getting you primed for what is coming. It will give the forum a way to report your social score to the data farmers when the time comes.
  17. Anyone have any experience with Grange? Had some friends just start one up locally. All I’ve ever know was 4H and FFA. These folks were extremely committed, but apparently 4H went political and started pushing things like BLM and Defund the Police. They’d had enough and started up a Grange chapter. Supposedly it’s been around longer than anything, but I haven’t got to look too deep. Considering signing up the oldest now that we have the room for some livestock. Just curious if Grange is a thing around the country and how much in the dark I’ve been not knowing about it.
  18. Looks just like a bench seat in the short bus I used to ride to school in.
  19. You will not be disappointed. They’re good triggers.
  20. You bought her…she’s yours now. Don’t fcuk this up. If I find her back on my door step, you’ll find me on yours…and there’s pretty good odd nobody will find you period.
  21. You bought a short bus and you’re picking everyone up?
  22. Oh no…I have faith they will find a gun loving 2A supporter to run that department. Maybe even a Trump supporter. On another note, I have a bridge for sale.
  23. Love that bullet trail.
  24. Don’t worry. They have thick skin, and not just from the AZ sun. I just question how many were thrown to land three….
  25. Lmao. Hiiii Ron! Welcome from another newb in San Diego.
