  1. That's on bad a$$ stock !
  2. Geissele's Desert color is more of a Bronze then FDE , that is a good looking Handle though .
  3. You say you have a Mid Length gas system on that 20" barrel ? I'm confused on how the Armalite Carbine Gas Tube is going to be longer .
  4. I have one of their 16" , mid gas barrels , looks like a med. contour ( looks just like the one in the hands of that video link ) , that I will be testing ,hopefully tomorrow . Rifle only has Buis & std mil spec Trigger , so I'm not expecting a match grade grouping from it till I change some of these things . For around $ 90 for the bbl., I don' expect much . The barrel has a nice Nitrate Finnish on it , bore looks clean & locking lugs are well done , we will see tomorrow how well it does , because I will be shooting at 100 yards after I set up the gas on this new Superlative Piston system.
  5. Well , by golly ! I have yet to test the Geissele spring , waiting for a friend to take this Friday off , to go shooting with me & his has a new rifle to try also.
  6. Their web sight reads the ten slot adj. is for the SR25/M110 & the seven slot adj. is for the M4 Carbine , interesting . It also reads the ten position is longer then the seven position , so I take it ,you can use std AR 15 components or DPMS 308 components in the seven position & Armalite configuration in the ten position one . I also read that they are extruded 7075 . I was looking at ALG Defense Carbine Receiver Extension & their is 7075 Forged , now I have to get one to compare & since the ALG one is only $ 38 , I think I will order it first & I know its in stock .
  7. The people in that State need to stand up for them selves , that stupid Cow doesn't have to authority to make that kind of determination .
  8. Ok , so why would I read your original post , unless you referred to it about this . I was just trying to clarify your post , because it could be confusing to some that don't know the difference . Is the one you mentioned today for the AR 15/M4/M16 have same part # as the one you linked or are they a different Model /part # , Because the link you posted doesn't say anything about he AR 15 , reads SR25/M110 , is Magpul playing funny things with their link's ? Why update the original post , you just updated this thread , whats the difference ?
  9. That doesn't read as it is for an Armalite Receiver Extension , As you said its for a DPMS type Buffer system , an Armalite Carbine Receiver Extension is longer, so unless I'm reading something wrong here , you would have to change the Buffer system to a DPMS type to use it on a Armalite . There is something on the LAR 8 & the Bushy BAR 10 , having to swap out to a shorter Buffer .
  10. Which one or size ? DPMS Gas Tube/AR 15/16 Pistol 6-5/8 Carbine 9-3/4 Mid-Length 11-3/4 Rifle 15-1/4 Armalite lengths, Rifle ( 308 ) ----- 15.5 " Carbine ( 308 )--12 1/16" super SASS Carbine ( 308 )--11" Super SASS< Rife (308 ) ? Mid ,( 223 )------------------ 11 3/4" Carbine ( 223) --------------- 9 3/4 " Rifle ( 223 ) ------------------- 15 3/16" National Match--------------- ?
  11. There will be , one some new rifles , a break in period & they may have issues for the first few mag's. . Also , if you haven't already , scrub the Chamber & Barrel bore with a good stiff brush & solvent .
  12. That's not possible , its an Armalite ! , just kidding . The red stuff in the middle to he spring could also be a buffer material , you see some Blue stuff in some AR 15 Springs . ( I see JT was a faster typer ) I know some use the o-ring in there Extractors & if it works or is meant by the manufacturer , replace all as said & I would also replace the Extractor , they are wear items & you can expect to replace them at some point , some sooner , some later .
  13. I still wouldn't like it , because we have had some here that wouldn't work when they were like that . I still say there is something to it by DPMS & I say this because there are only a few that are like this shorter version . 99% of what I have seen are in the middle or very close to it . Tolerance spec's by DPMS , maybe they changed something or something got past QC . JMHO.
  14. The locking back of the BCG with last round fired is with actually firing the rifle with live rounds . Just using Snap caps tells you the Bolt Stop is working . You have to do live fire with live ammo to test the gas system . Load one round in Mag. load it into the Chamber & fire the rifle & if it locks back on empty mag , last round fired , the gas system is OK , well to some extent any way . Even then , if that works , I load two rounds in the mag & see if you get the same results , then three rounds with the same results & then try different brand of ammo , the same way. If this is a factory rifle & it has any issues , you should contact DPMS , again if you have to .
  15. There were a couple of Carbine gas system Tubes that did't go to far in & they said they work . I think some gas Blocks are not set up correctly or the Barrels are not , hard to say.
  16. DPMS said that to you , geez , WTF , there are rifles that do not like Pmags , I have one that has feeding issues with the first Gen. Pmags , but the Gen. 3's works fine , they are a little different . The L7 Lancers are probably the best 308 AR Mag out there IMO , but they are expensive . Now that thats out of the way , if you put one round in the Mag. & fire that one round & it will not lock back the BCG on last round , more then likely its not the Mag. , but to make sure , try a DPMS steel mag or an early original C-Products Mag. if you can find one . The DPMS should be available . If that rifle will not function with M 80 Ball ammo , something is wrong with it . You don't need 168 gr. loaded ammo , it should fire anything M80 ( 147-149 gr. Loads ) & above , with out issues . Plenty of manufacturers out there making components for the larger frame DPMS 308AR's & I don't think its specified as a G1 , like the smaller frame GII.
  17. Its still fuking confusing & thats probably the way they want it ! Sounds like entrapment to me .
  18. Ya I just read that , Dooooo ! Freaking cheaper to buy a Lower ! Oh thats right ,it would be a ghost gun , well I don't care , thats too much $$
  19. What Jig would you use for this Lower ? http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/receiver-parts/receivers/lower-receivers/ar-15-80-lower-receiver-billet-prod87942.aspx?cm_sp=Home Page Banner-_-Rifle Parts-_-Noreen_receiver

    1187 help

Good deal , I suck at shooting at Clays , but man ,I had no problem blasting Pheasants. Grouse , now thats another story
  21. OK , there are slight differences in the Dia. of the Buffers , mostly at the shoulder where the Spring rides or secures & of course , big differences in the Springs . Brand Spring length COILS BUFFER MAIN BODY BUFFER SPING SHOULDER Geissele AR 15 Carbine 10 7/8" 27 0.6845" 0.7525" Std AR 15 Carbine 10 1/2 " 38 0.6835" 0.7765" The STD Carbine spring will fit over the Geissele Buffer , but is loose on the shoulder , Geisselle will not fit over the STD Buffer , in this case a Spikes H2 Buffer . Buffer system feels good hand cycling the action , but will find out when I test fire tomorrow how it works with the Piston system .
  22. Why would I post something that is used in something I don't have Makes no sense if I can't test it . With all the new stuff coming out from Armalite , I couldn't keep up ! Besides this is for an AR 15 or in the case of the Receiver Extension , AR 15/DPMS 308AR I have to pull one of my AR 15 Carbine Buffers to get some measurements , because I took some from the Geissele Spring/Buffer set up & a std Carbine Spring with photo's , so I can give a comparison . & the Rifle build went well , with just two minor issues .
  23. With my $ 89 Barrel , mine might not be . I have not made a decision on what bbl. I really want on this build , but this one will do for testing.
