  1. Interesting , looks well made .
  2. If you feel its a little over gased , you can alway install an Adjustable Gas Block . Sounds like you have it taken care of ,but they are out there if needed . Can you measure the Gas Tube you have out of the rifle ? Below is a partial length guide . DPMS Gas Tube/AR 15/16 Pistol 6-5/8 Carbine 9-3/4 Mid-Length 11-3/4 Rifle 15-1/4 Armalite lengths, Rifle ( 308 ) ----- 15.5 " Mid length Carbine ( 308 )--12 1/16" super SASS Carbine ( 308 )--11" Super SASS< Rife (308 ) ? Mid ,( 223 )------------------ 11 3/4" Carbine ( 223) --------------- 9 3/4 " Rifle ( 223 ) ------------------- 15 3/16" National Match--------------- ?
  3. You jut can't cut one you have down , it would have to be designated that way from a manufacturer , a class 3 can't do it , unless they have a manufacturers Class 2 FFL. To sell it ,they still have to have a class 3 FFL. I don't think I have ever seen a Shotgun pistol for sale here . Short barreled weapon , yes , but not a Pistol .
  4. But they were not specifically the ELD's , correct ? so he is still on the hook for a review .
  5. Well be waiting for your review on them if no one speaks up
  6. I don't think the ATF will like you cutting down a Shotgun , it would have to be designated as a Pistol to begin with . Just shooting an H&R single shot 12 ga. is enough punishment , let alone a Pistol version . Some people just think its cool to hurt themselves . Though in Grizzly Country , a 12ga. Slug is a good round , but just a single shot ? Hope you don't have to reload for a follow up .
  7. Its all amazing till the ambulance shows up .
  8. Well , just shoot her too !
  9. Fulton Armory sells the longer AR 10 Gas Tube . WE have seen other rifles lately that function with the Gas tube in that position . Did you change the Bolt with the new Barrel or use the same one that was used with the 16" ? Check Head Space . Check the Chamber for roughness , it may also show up on spent brass .
  10. Dont worry , there will be plenty to go around if they sell them here, I see a lot of Safe Queens ( or for sale )after those who buy them take the first shot .
  11. No , I don't want one .
  12. How tight is the Mag Catch ? Also an Armalite AR10 Mag Catch can sometimes help . Does the rifle function with this looseness ? There are no standards for the 308ARs , like MilSpec tolerances as with the little brother AR 15/ M 4 / M16 , most manufactures make their own .
  13. If you have a stock FCG , a good Trigger would have been less Horz. spread , for sure & that is a short Carbine sight radius , not bad .
  14. I missed the GII on the title . You have what looks like an MBUS for a rear sight , having an MBUS for the front on a longer Hand Guard with rail would give you a much longer sight radius & more accuracy with the IS , just an idea .
  15. Welcome from Sun Shine State
  16. Well , if you don't mind replacing the Front sight /Gas Block , with a micro Gas Block , there are many HG 's out there , as long as they are for a 308AR , DPMS type w/ low profile Rail .
  17. A Piston action BC doesn't have the extension on the Gas Key that the Gas Tube fits into , but your right , the Piston BC's mostly rely on the little Guide tabs on the Charging handle to work the action . We were talking about the Key being omitted , , with a Piston BC , there is still something there that is close to a Carrier Key for the Charging Handle to grab on to & I don't know how other Piston system may work , but my Piston Rod goes through the same place as the Gas tube . This is totally interesting , I'm going to have to look much more closely , 98 brought up a good point . Edit , looking at a BCG , If the Charging handle went any further back then that Lip on the BC , it would interfere with the Cam Pin .
  18. I have had issues with the Gen. 3 ,LR PMags , had to send two back , they would stick in the Mag well & had feeding issues , in all my 308AR's . It was from their new facility after moving , so it was probably a production issue , no problem getting replacements that work fine . I started a thread on it around here somewhere . The issue or difference between the two , as we all know is ,the Feed Lips , that is where any Plastic mag will fail , the Lancers eliminate that potential issue , but for a price , thats for sure . There are many gunners that will flat out not use a Plastic Mag in their Rifle , true its their loss , but thats the way they feel safe to use Steel only . The Lancer is an answer to some of these people , some still will not use a Plastic Mag , no matter what it has on the feed lips . Having the Follower not follow the Cartridges the full length of the Mag , could be several issues . I would have had Lancer figure out the issue , could have been a bad batch of Springs from a supplier, in any capacity mag. , the weakest part of the spring is with the Mag empty & if its weak at the end , an out of spec or weak spring to begin with , will have the potential to cause issues . The Bolt catch would be one of them .
  19. Ya , but I'll bet with out the Gas Key for alignment , the Charging handle would have the potential to slip off that small lip , I wouldn't trust those side tabs on the Charging Handle that guide it & keep it on the BC with out the Gas Key being used as another alignment fixture . Theres a lot of resistance pressure on the BCG with the Buffer spring . Anyone have a BCG with out a Key to try it , It would be a good experiment
  20. Remove the Buffer components & weigh the Buffer , measure the length of the Buffer , measure the length of the Buffer Spring & count the Coils . Carbine or Rifle Stock system ?
  21. This is something I watched in my back yard about a week ago , I hope they get paid well , Pilot was real good .
