I saw a list somewhere but I can't find it...showed all the "mass shootings" of the last 10 years. Showed which ones were gun free zones (almost all) showed which were committed with legal guns (most) and which were committed by lefties (most) Anyone have that one bookmarked?

I stuck a badger latch on mine just because I had it in a drawer. Came from a 5.56 handle when I upgraded to BCMs. Doesn't feel bad, but I don't have too much confidence in it.

I personally would pay a few bucks extra for the nice one, but honestly, its pretty unlikely you will break it either way.

I just finished a book called timeline by Michael Crighton (sp?) About some historians who get stick in the 1300s. Its just scifi, but he tends to be accurate in the details. On of the characters in the book brought up this same observation, that modern movies and even some historical sources really get this period wrong. He shows them being pretty "modern" culturally, as oppose to the Monty python filth farmersmany people envision.

I bought 6 for $30. Had some issues with bullets nosing down. I called TD and they replaced all 6 with brand new gen 2 mags. They are awesome. Run flawless. They are a little chunky though and won't work with tight pouches.

What really hurts is these are the morons who are beating us

There's a local AZ shooting forum with lots of pof reviews. Since Hogan is local, one might think we would get better service or quality. NOPE. Most of the reviews start optimistic and hopeful, and after a few months and a few returns (for the lucky ones who get any response) most exchange them for another brand. I'm sure the 5.56 guns are ok, but the 7.62 is a crap shoot.

The A1 stock is 3/8" shorter than the A2, but the use the same extension. The longer A2 gets a 3/8" long spacer on the back end to make up the empty space, and a longer screw. The tube is standard, but you still need the 308 specific buffer and spring. Any carbine stock will fit on any carbine extension as long as it is the correct diameter (commercial =bigger/milspec=smaller) DPMS uses standard AR15 carbine extensions with a modified, shorter buffer to compensate for the longer carrier. Most guys feel that buffer is too light and go with a heavybuffers setup, consisting on an armalite AR10 spring and a weighted AR10 buffer. Not all 308 platforms use the same carbine extension and parts, but rifle extension are standard. Dpms just introduced totally new proprietary parts and threw all standardization back in the toilet. ok, fact check that for me fellas. Its early. Just tried to stick all pertinent info into one post :p
