  1. Yup, it's definitely going to be worth it! When my house was built the owner/ builder put in oak flooring but never even sanded it, just put carpet over it. My wife has asthma so when we bought the place the carpet came out and there it was, milling marks and all. I've got 4 rooms and a hallway that I have to do that to and I'm not looking forward to it but the results make up for all the work! <thumbsup>
  2. ^^^^^Yup! I cried my eyes out when I had to put Josh's shar pei down! Josh was in 29 Palms at MOS school at the time and I couldn't tell him until I went to pick him up. Rob, I hope it's nothing serious and he bounces back quick.
  3. Yup, B! <thumbsup>
  4. Not a problem Ron. I'll even feed ya..............as soon as you show up here in New Mexico! <thumbsup> <lmao>
  5. Hah! Ron beat me by one minute!
  6. Well, you know the rules, if no one knows anything about it the poster who brought it up has to buy it and let us all know about it! <thumbsup>
  7. Or it may well be that gun people are more organized and better at getting the word out to their fellow shooters about a poll like this than your average lame brain lazy a$$ed liberal is!
  8. Now I'm wondering who will outlive me that I could actually get to do that! <lmao>
  9. ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Shibi, most agents I know hate working checkpoints with a passion.
  11. This video gives a good look at the attitudes the public had to deal with back years ago, especially that the U.S. Constitution didn't carry any weight while in a BP checkpoint. Also, at 19:45 you hear the agent demand that the driver produce a valid drivers license and that he had the authority to do so because he is a peace officer. NOT true! The Border Patrol has a limited scope of duties and laws that they can enforce, and traffic is not one of them! The Border Patrol has absolutely no authority to enforce ANY traffic laws, none whatsoever! The agent tried to use the threat of the NMSP to intimidate the driver but yet no NMSP officer arrived before the driver was allowed to leave. Wonder why that was? Probably because the NMSP told the USBP to go fly a kite and deal with their own messes! <lmao>
  12. Border Patrol is allowed to set up these checkpoints anywhere within 100 miles of the border. Living in the southwest I've passed through many of them, and the one between Deming and Las Cruces on I-10 well over 100 times. Nowadays the agents are pretty courteous but back several years ago it wasn't that way. I've had run ins with agents at the Sierra Blanca Tx. checkpoint and a temporary one on N.M. 26 (a shortcut from Deming to Hatch to get from I-10 to I-25) that left a really bad taste in my mouth. Being an active LEO and having a son and a son-in-law in the Border Patrol at both times, it would seem to take a pretty bad incident to piss me off but they managed to do so! Both the Sierra Blanca and Las Cruces checkpoints have caused traffic fatalities due to traffic being backed up onto the interstate and inattentive drivers slamming into vehicles that were in line! I'm sure there are probably more but for some strange reason these accidents get very little press. My son was originally stationed in Las Cruces and worked that checkpoint a lot and he and I got into a lot of arguments about what they did out there. He said that 4th Amendment rights didn't apply at the checkpoints and I argued that the only place the 4th Amendment didn't apply in this country was at Ports of Entry. He also admitted to me that the main focus at the checkpoint was NOT apprehending illegal aliens, it was drug enforcement. At that time the U.S. Border Patrol had absolutely NO statutory authority to enforce any drug laws and they actually had to call in another agency to handle any drug busts they made at the checkpoint! It was not until after 9-11 that the focus at the checkpoints actually shifted back more towards apprehending illegals, but even now the Las Cruces checkpoint has a drug dog sniffing vehicles as they pass through. After putting up with these checkpoints for 35 years I've gotten a bit of an attitude towards them. When I go through one now, they get one question, "Are you a U.S. citizen?" After I answer yes, any other question is answered with "That is none of your business!" To be fair it seems that the Border Patrol's attitude has changed a lot over the last decade, it's been several years since I was asked anything other than my citizenship. My opinion about the checkpoints? Shut every last phucking one of them down and put the agents back where they are supposed to be, patrolling the border and apprehending illegal aliens instead of impeding the movement of the citizens of this country for the sake of illegal drug busts and an occasional (for stats!) apprehension of an illegal alien at a checkpoint!
  13. Hey Jon! :fawkdance: :tfg: <lmao>
  14. AND in New Mexico! :wtf: <lmao>
  15. No vote from me. It's at 69% now.
  16. A friend of mine told me this many years ago, something to ponder; "What makes you think you own any property to start with? WE don't own any property, the government does! If you don't think so, just quit paying your property taxes (rent) to the government and see how long it takes for them to evict you from the property you thought was yours!"
  17. I use the wire and corplast campaign signs like Dirk suggested. Cheap, and if you have a bunch of friends running for sheriff like I do you will be all set after the elections. We've got something like 12 different people running for county sheriff and so far I've got signs from three of them posted in my yard.(I live on a high traffic street). <lmao>
  18. I have a DPMS LR308B and I like the rifle but damn that thing was heavy! I took the barrel off and had a friend turn it down from the gas block forward to .750 dia. and thread the muzzle for a muzzle device. I then re-parkerized it and reassembled it with a Goodiron muzzle break. Just as easy as before on the recoil and not so muzzle heavy. I like it much better now.
  19. Just got in from camping in an area with absolutely no cell phone or internet service so I'm a little late to the party, but I want to say thank you to all our service people both past and present and a big thank you to every one of you on this board who has served or is serving. It is because of the sacrifice of the warriors of this country we are all free. <thumbsup>
  20. Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <thumbsup>
  21. Well, since the V-Rod WAS brought up, if you'll notice, the V-Rod IS the only v-twin engine being used competitively in NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle up to this season (the Buells just haven't done very good). I can't say for sure that that is the case this season since I haven't watched any racing at all so far this year. Also, NHRA has added weight to the V-Rod bikes almost every year to keep all those metric bikes competitive! I'm a dyed in the wool Harley nut, but personally if I couldn't afford one I wouldn't have any problem with cruising a Yamaha or Suzuki v-twin.
  22. Let us know when you'll be there, I'm sure the Az. guys can put something together and I'll certainly try to make it! You should have seen what they put together for my son before he shipped off to Okinawa! The kid is still talking about that range trip! <thumbsup>
  23. Yeah, I'll race. Meet me back here at the same stoplight in 20 years! :fawkdance:
  24. BULLSHYT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tom leaves his gun wide open for a grab when he gives a pants down hug. I've seen it! <laughs> <lmao>
