2020 Choir Boys Fallen Officer gun raffle
392heminut replied to 392heminut's topic in General Discussion
Okay guys, I'm back. My uncle (my dad's little brother) just wanted to pass some stuff on to me and my brothers and sister and I felt like I should be there. I never know when I see him if it will be the last time. My dad passed when I was a teenager and I've been really close to my uncle. Doc and Rex, got your funds and I'll follow up on that tomorrow. Sagebrush, PM'ed you where to send the check. Thanks guys! -
2020 Choir Boys Fallen Officer gun raffle

BTW, I'm heading to Kansas in the AM and won't be back home until late Monday night so if you don't get a response from me right away have patience. Gotta take care of some family stuff. -
Took my wife over to Tucson to be with our 3 grandsons and our son and daughter-in-law for the weekend. She hasdn't seen the little ones (other than facetime) in 3 months because of Covid. She loved it, best Mother's Day she could have had.

So, with all the Covid schit going on we had to cancel our Fallen Officer Run this year. This gun raffle is the only thing bringing in funds this year for what we do. Those of you who are new here, we raise funds to help the families of law enforcement officers who are killed or seriously injured in the line of duty in the states where we have club chapters. The funds raised by each state's chapter stay in that state and are used in that state. NONE of the money raised is used for anything other than families of law enforcement officers, not one dime! This year is a first, we are raffling two guns instead of one. The S&W M&P 9mm pistol we raffled last year was donated back to the club to be raffled again (it was one of our members who won it) and we are also raffling a S&W M&P AR-15. Same odds as always though (or maybe not?). We usually only sell 500 tickets and ALWAYS sell all of them but this year we are selling 1000 tickets and hoping that we sell all of them even with the Covid thing going on. Who knows? As always, the tickets are $5 each and the drawing will be on July 4th. If you're interested in purchasing tickets, PM me and let me know. I can do Paypal, Zelle, personal check, money order or even cash. As I've done in the past, if someone on the forum wins one of the guns I will pay out of my own pocket to ship the gun to the FFL of your choice. The guns;

If my experience with Sketch's 458 is any indication then the answer to that is HELL NO! Fukkin thing kicked like a mule! I would rather shoot 98's 45/70 Marlin than that 458 Socom!

I don't think that pin was the issue with that D Wilson BCG, the thing wouldn't work in my Matrix build either. Tried it with that original P.O.C. Andersen barrel and again with the Faxon barrel. It had extraction problems with both of them. I ended up putting a Toolcraft BCG in that one and no more problems. I think Dave Wilson's extractors were out of spec somehow. I contacted him about it just after I started having the problems and he sent me that BCG rebuild kit that he had on his website, which had another extractor in it. The new one didn't work any better than the one that came with the bolt.

I like it! That is a compact little package!

I could be wrong but I don't think carbine length gas systems on an AR308 are a thing. I think they are only available in mid length and rifle length.

Pulled this off another thread Did ya'll know that back when Lysol first came out women used to douche with that stuff? Just sayin!

Yeah, well you need to quit with that fancy schmancy talk and use plain fukkin redneck english! You've been around here long enough to know you're not dealing with a bunch of socialites. We all call a hornet a hornet and maybe sometimes a wasp if we want to show that we have a varied vocabulary. Vespa is a friggin scooter, plain and simple!

Certified noob in need of some help here!

Damn nice rifle! It's great when you get them running good, then you just pull the trigger and have fun! -
Yup, same here! Josh (several here have met him) is our miracle baby. It was about 2 years after my snip when my wife became pregnant. When she had him she got snipped and I guess that one took, no more kids!😁

Well schit Mike, that defeats the whole purpose of a BBQ gun!

@98Z5VI just got back from the range and that JP extractor worked like a champ! No failures to extract & eject whatsoever. That Seekins adjustable gas block is awesome once you get it set. Flip it to the left and shoot suppressed and flip it to the right and shoot unsuppressed with lock open after last round on both settings. The brass lands at 3:00 suppressed and 4:00 unsuppressed both about 8 feet away. I think this thing is humming now!

I'll be surprised if there isn't!

Or is it this one;

Looks pretty nice so far! I hope yours runs better than mine! So far I have blown up a Palmetto adjustable gas block (seriously, broke it into 3 pieces) and broke the extractor in that Wilson BCG! After the catastrophic failure of the Palmetto gas block I got one of these; https://www.seekinsprecision.com/select-adjustable-gas-block-876.html I was out at the range tuning it when the damn Wilson extractor took a schit! I can understand why he quit selling those BCG's I've had extraction problems with mine from day one. I just put a JP extractor in it and will take it out tomorrow and try it.

Nice! You'll need that oven mitt!

Both of my PCC's (9mm & 40 S&W) have a 1X red dot on them. My feeling is yeah, you're shooting a carbine but it's still a pistol caliber. I personally can't see any advantage to running a higher power optic on mine. I would invest in an Aimpoint Comp M4 or M4s before buying an ACOG. Aimpoint claims a battery life of up to 8 years on the AA battery used in them. I have an M4s that has had the same battery in it for over 2 years now and I don't turn it off, it's my house gun. Still going strong. Batteries aren't a problem if you shut them off when you're not using them. How do I know this? I've ran more batteries dead from forgetfulness than I care to admit!

Damn, definitely praying for a good outcome with this brother!
-
Doc, really??!!! You have been around here long enough to know better! All you've done is present a challenge! It WILL be met!
-
Way would he do that? They are BBQ guns! He doesn't shoot them, he just carries them for looks!
