  1. Welcome from Iowa, via North Carolina!
  2. The Tango 6 series were this high before the contract. Checked out the 5x30 model last year at my LGS, fantastic quality scope but not more than twice my Bushnell. The level feature in the reticle is a pretty neat innovation though. The PA stuff is really a hands down winner in the bang for the buck category though. My PA 4x16 gets moved around between at least three different rifles and does break-in duty on new builds(cheap so if the rifle blows up I'm not out much). As long as I keep track of the adjustments made for each rifle it goes right back to zero on each one. A good example of a certain enabler here saving me a few bucks by singing PA's praises.
  3. Only $1800 for the civilian model............maybe some day. https://www.sigsauer.com/store/tango6-1-6x24-mm-1.html
  4. Hell yeah, welcome back!
  5. Bummer, this change came about because Pete Brownell resigned. He was very much on our side and had been making progress bringing the organization to a place that looked more like the modern shooting culture. I hope Olie will seek his advice on the position and not just be a mouthpiece.
  6. I'm not sure a professional fall guy and behind the scenes player will safeguard my 2A rights. Odds are he will just be a figurehead Hesston anyway. Adam Kraut lost his bid for the board by 70 votes,(no recounts allowed), about the same as his last write in campaign, they don't want real change.

  8. The Gen II came after the expiration of the assault weapons ban so 2004 or a bit after. before that they used the old M-14 with modification to get around the ban. Should be close to expired unless they got an extension though.
  9. I’m betting that locking screw is in there just way deep. That would explain the galled threads.
  10. I love my SLR gas blocks. DVOR has some on sale right now; https://www.dvor.com/weeklong-sale-on-slr-rifleworks-firearm-parts-65-2018-05-06.html SLR is having a 15% off sale on their site; http://slrrifleworks.com/index.php?route=common/home For a cheaper route you can look here, Superlative and SLR are the only ones I have experience with so I'll let others chime in with recommendations. http://www.primaryarms.com/MCategories+AR-15-Gas-Blocks
  11. Somebody grab a box or two of this stuff and let us know how it does at distance; https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1018438092/federal-premium-gold-medal-berger-ammunition-308-winchester-185-grain-berger-juggernaut-open-tip-match
  12. Do a search here and read my review on this gas block if you haven't paid for it yet. The bleed of settings do not allow enough gas out to work properly, works fine in the restrictive setting but then you can get one lots cheaper that does that.
  13. How about a picture of the front of the gas block, that is where the locking screw should have been. If there is no hole there then that is a defective block going by the directions. That screw should be the adjustment screw and should not have any loctite.
  14. Was there no locking screw or no place for a locking screw? Sure looks like it was in there when the adjustment screw was turned out, could it be that it is a short one and sitting in there way deep? Mt experience in the past with Armalite was that they take care of issues like this, call and insist. You shouldn't need to swap the springs unless they have seriously changed the specs, I find the springs I have bought from Armalite are better than most others.
  15. Armalite has only been using that handguard for maybe 3 years. Possibly they are clearing it out due to the keymod? That's a pretty nice rifle for the money; https://www.cdnnsports.com/armalite-m15-16-5-56-light-tactical-carbine.html?___SID=U#.Wu7b4ogvwyU
  16. Pictures of the gas block as well, Armalite doesn't make gas blocks so someone here will most likely be familiar with it. If it's over gassed there is no reason you shouldn't be able to adjust that issue away.
  17. Having just moved production facilities I'm betting they are still trying to get up and running. M15 are out of stock everywhere I looked as well. Haven't seen any promotional emails for months. Odds are they are finding it difficult to replace all the staff they lost with the move.
  18. They have not made an announcement but it sure appears the B is almost totally gone from Armalite.
  19. You would have a hard time finding one cheaper if you can find one! You won't be disappointed.
  20. I wouldn't say overpriced. Comparable to Lancer mags and a couple others. Never had an issue with my B model, mags are built like tanks. I've got one specific 15 rounder I use at the range all the time, it has near 2,000 rounds and shows no sign of stopping, barely any difference in the spring when compared to one that has only been used a couple times. Wait a minute, I have a solution for you, sell me the B model real cheap, I have plenty of mags for it
  21. That's either really ballsy or really stupid.....maybe both!
  22. In his prime he would drink a case and you couldn't tell he was drunk, the man has a constitution! He wasn't in the shooting war, due to his clearence he was restricted to the air base the whole time, where he got dosed with agent orange when they would clear the zone around the base with it. He was a photo interpreter, selected targets from U2 photos. They started out in the Philippines but they kicked his unit out of the country when they realized what they were doing. Everyone was super nervous about his wing being in nam because of all the top secret stuff, he couldn't tell family he was there. When he applied for benefits dealing with agent orange they originally told him there was no record of him being in the combat zone but he had saved his orders so they got it figured out eventually. What bugs him is all the lies that are still given out as historical fact to this day, targeted the AA missiles on the ships in the harbor but the brass just had him track them till they were up and running, crap like that. When he was stationed in Texas the man next to him was the first to spot the missiles in cuba, he did the verification before they alerted brass. Pisses him off everytime he hears some documentary give the credit to the CIA. I look forward to reading it all someday and you can bet it will be shared.
  23. So they are not even counting my father then, he was there in 63 to early 64 and he wasn't there alone! He has dealt with lung cancer, skin cancer, (agent orange was blamed) and now needs a walker to get around due to a bad back and botched surgery. He has really slowed down these past few years, gauged by his daily beer intake down from almost a case a day to maybe a six pack but usually less now. He rarely talks about the war because he is still afraid they will put him in jail for security violations. I have convinced him to write down his experience so we can have it for history after his death.
  24. Too soon........Springfield is a little hypocritical in their condemnation of dick's. It was about a year ago they were the center of the storm for paying lobbyists to get them cut out of a restrictive gun sales bill in Illinois. I will not soon forget this and it will take more than a press release piling on an already condemned business to set things right.
  25. Springfield is trying hard to make us forget they paid lobbyists to get them a cut out in an anti 2A Illinois law proposal just a year ago. This is about as comical as it is hypocritical; GENESEO, IL, (05/03/18) – Springfield Armory is severing ties with Dick’s Sporting Goods and its subsidiary, Field & Stream, in response to their hiring a group for anti-Second Amendment lobbying. This latest action follows Dick’s Sporting Goods’ decision to remove and destroy all modern sporting rifles (MSR) from their inventory. In addition, they have denied Second Amendment rights to Americans under the age of 21. We at Springfield Armory believe that all law abiding American citizens of adult age are guaranteed this sacred right under our Constitution. It is clear where Dick’s Sporting Goods and its subsidiary, Field & Stream, stand on the Second Amendment, and we want to be clear about our message in response. Their position runs counter to what we stand for as a company. At Springfield Armory, we believe in the right and principles fought for and secured by American patriots and our founding forefathers, without question. We will not accept Dick’s Sporting Goods’ continued attempts to deny Second Amendment freedoms to our fellow Americans.
