Here is a different approach; https://www.redi-mag.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=61

Supersonics functioned, heavy subs ejected but no fresh round loaded and no lock back on empty mag. The lighter subs would stovepipe with the mouth against the extension or the front of the ejection port. Wish I hadn't used the rocksett on the FH yet, going to soak it for the day and check the gas block alignment tonight. Think I'll wait for the BCG and Tubbs spring before doing much else. I will check the buffer, now that I think about it the buffer I am using came from my PM400, I had replaced it with an H2 in that rifle and gutted the weights out of the Anderson for the low reciprocating mass build.

http://outdoornebraska.gov/ehd/ No info on any present outbreak but finding them by the water is a good sign it is same disease as past die offs.

Shooting all factory ammo, just don't have the time at home to reload anymore. I didn't see any fireball but definitely saw evidence of unburned powder. LGS has some Sig subs so I'll try a box of those. Still want the pistol to shoot a good variety of ammo. Anyone see the harm in using a lightweight BCG?

Looks like Bluetongue is back in NE Nebraska. There was a dead 10 point and 8 point at the creek on my Dad's place there, big bastards. You could smell dead ones in several places where the creek runs by the road so there are plenty more. Thousands of acres around him are all tied up with hunting leases so very few deer are taken causing big population swings, going to be a down year coming.

Guess I'm not sure if it is broke, I was hoping it would run everything being pistol gas but seems to be picky with the subs. Just pulled the BCG, damn it was a mess inside, can't imagine how much carbon/ burnt powder will pile with a can on it!

For all these years I thought Grandpa just wanted their last meal to taste good...............

Got to run some rounds through the 300BO pistol today. Put a set of Magpul BUIS on it, zeroed in easy and did great for my old eyes at 100 yards, first some remington UMC 120gr; Now these Freedom Munitions 208 gr. A-Max shots were at a real slow pace, damn thing would not give the BCG enough umph to pick up a round. I maxed out the SLR gas block, 6 more clicks past what it took to run the supersonic. Also shot some S&B 200 subs and some remington UMC 220 subs with the same results. The 220's were very close to functioning, full ejection but no lock back. I hope to do a bit of an autopsy before going back to work, check gas block alignment and such but not sure I want to change much until I have gotten the can and tried it. Those of you with cans, will it make that much difference in gas pressure? I'm running it on a d. wilson lightweight BCG I borrowed from another rifle till he has standard BCG's in stock again. The spring and buffer are standard stuff from an Anderson kit. Faxon 10 1/2 inch barrel with pistol gas. I'm thinking if my gas block is properly aligned when I take it down I just as well put a standard Geissele GB on it and save the SLR for preparing one of my 308 AR's for a can. If I'm thinking right a standard weight BCG will take even more pressure to function than the lightweight I'm testing with, should I consider just running it with a lightweight? As soon as Tubbs gets more of his flat wire springs for the 300BO in I planned on running one of those, maybe this will help a bit?????

Would still be a good medium rare chop. Back in the day before the confinement system became popular it was not uncommon for farmers to be eaten by their hogs accidentally. They are opportunistic feeders by nature, whatever they can get ahold of they eat. Got a good scar on my leg from a sow having a taste when I was a kid, Grandpa shot her and we ate her up
-
Got a reference for that? I'm not finding anything.

In today's commercial pork supply Trichinosis is a very rare to non existent thing. It finds it's way into pork when they root through the soil, todays pigs never set foot on dirt their entire life cycle. The barns they live in are regularly cleaned and disinfected, most commercial barnes have protocols in place that resemble the clean rooms you see with computer manufacturers. A 1 1/2 inch thick Iowa chop done to a pink medium rare is a tasty, juicy, and safe thing to eat.

I used one of their carbine kits for a build and had to cut a notch for the detent so I could get another turn on it, also added a couple quarters to the tube to get the carrier to the right depth. No problem though, runs like a champ.

Everything I'm reading says this, freeze the barrel and heat the receiver.
-
Should is the operative word here. Someone will know the right way, you need to freeze one part and heat the other then squeeze them together...just can't remember which is which right now...........

Ran across the M-300 Nikon as well, can't find any info if it is first or second focal plane though; http://www.nikonsportoptics.com/en/nikon-products/product/null/m-300-blk-1.5-6x42-bdc-supersub-il.html#tab-ProductDetail-ProductTabs-TechSpecs Been seeing it a few hundred dollars cheaper in a few places.

My own personal multicam, a little busy maybe. I have the rail covers in FDE so I may swap them and see what that looks like.

Just installed a MBT, feels every bit as good or better than any of my Geissele triggers. Best two stage trigger for the money I have tried, the wider trigger feels great to me. Now the fun part, to see what it feels like after a thousand rounds! Wish I would have ordered several when they had that $99 sale but even at the regular price I'll be getting more.

A friend wanted to try some stuff with Cerakote so I got all the little detail work done for the cost of the materials. Matching the magazines trim color with the rifle in an effort to not mix up 5.56 and 300BO, hoping 4 mags will be enough as he lives in Tennessee and the bronze color is his own recipe.

Father-in-law bought one of those cheap remington's with a scope mounted at Walmart. He and the brother-in-law were trying to sight it in while we were at the range. After half a box they asked me to take a look and see if I could get it on paper for them. Scared the schit out of me when I looked through the scope, no reticle, they had no clue where that half box was heading! I had the wife sneak all the ammo out of his apartment since he thought it would still work fine for home defense............a 270 win. with no way of aiming in the middle of an apartment complex seemed like a bad idea all around.

Just got enough of my 300BO "pistol" put together for pictures; Still mulling over optics choices, maybe a Nikon P300 or the PA 1-6 for the 300BO, and of course it needs a BUIS set. Waiting on a Nitride BCG from d. wilson, a flat wire spring from Tubbs that is set up for the 300BO, and of course still waiting to get one of the AAC SDN-6 out of jail.
