  1. Then two days later Operation Urgent Fury began costing another 19 American servicemen their lives. I was in RIP at the time, training took on a whole new level of seriousness after these two events. Reagan handled it right though when it came to payback, nice and quiet like they had 100's of terrorists assassinated and increased the amount of training and weapons for our friends around the world.
  2. I'd still shoot Nathan a pm. The user ID is under Faxon. X Caliber is made when ordered but I had the barrel in under 10 days, just over two weeks when you figure in the return so they get them out fast.
  3. Forgot to add Faxon to the list. They have some excellent feedback here and their rep, Nathan, is on the site answering questions pretty regular. Bet you could PM him from here.
  4. There is X Caliber but you should do some reading here and a Google search before you buy. They get good marks from the bolt gun crowd but didn't seem real up on The 308AR. In there defense I asked for an unusual configuration, 16 inch with rifle length gas. I did get a 1.2 MOA 5 shot,100yard group yesterday.
  5. 2 inches overall but only adds 1 1/2 inch to the barrel length. Short as far as most comps go.
  6. Being unpredictable is a good thing. Predictability breeds complacency, complacency leads to tragedy. The nature of the beast........
  7. I've ran through better than a thousand of their 5.56 and 223 in 55 grain without issue, hell I ran a pile of 7.62 that performed great till this lot I got in June. I may still buy from them but it will be new and not loaded by them, I like the ability to trade the pick-up brass from the range for more fodder.
  8. The SLR SYNERGY BRAKE 308 BLEM is back in stock at $22.99. I don't have much to compare it to but 98 seemed to like his. The one I put on my Matrix didn't show any blem I could see and made the rifle a soft shooter. http://slrrifleworks.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=116&product_id=560
  9. Yep, even using bag and bipod would be a more realistic test. He's going to have problems even getting on the target at 500 yards if that is all the better it does at 300 when bolted down.
  10. Maybe a young man's game but thank God Magwa is there to pass on some wisdom from experience that may save them some day, an invaluable service!
  11. Got things somewhat squared away with Freedom Munitions. I shipped back 66 rounds, the "refund' only included the rounds I shipped back and not the 120 in the order, they were unclear about that until they had the ammo in hand then sent me a credit of $49.69 from a $89.99 order. They had a miscommunication on their end so along with the credit they shipped me 80 rounds of the same ammo which I received today. I just gauged it all and everything passed, some were at the limits both upper and lower but all passed. I inspected each round closely, no cracks but some small defects on the rims, maybe 1 out of 20 like that. I for sure won't reload any of the brass, half of it is from the 60's so I have a little concern about age hardening. The bullet tips were in much better shape than the last order, only a few with slight damage. I used the credit to order 140 rounds of Fiocchi 223 69 gr. match and shipped them 39 pounds of Berdan primed brass for credit on the rest, they mention no cracked or dented brass but say nothing about Berdan primed so they can have it. They only give $1.80 a pound in credit so they should make it back in scrap......... I'm off to go shoot some of this last batch and see if the accuracy improved at all........... Edit; Shot 8, 5 round groups of the stuff and 4, 5 round groups of 7.62 FGMM as a control, all at 100 yards and alternating between brands after the first two. The best FGMM was just a hair under 1.2 MOA with the worst at 2 MOA. The best F.M. group was 1.45 MOA, next best was 2 MOA with the rest around 3 MOA. Freedom wasn't near as consistent as the FGMM at the same price per round when I originally bought them. Think I'm done messing with Freedom Munitions til I see reports of improvement.
  12. Our problem is we now have a "town" heard. They never leave the city limits. The city spends stupid money hiring professionals to bow hunt them but they only get a few so the heard grows. I've shot them with BB guns at various power levels but they just don't give a schit, they always come back. The deer crap makes good fertilizer but I get tired of moving it all to the flower beds before I mow. I've tried repellents but they love the pepper based stuff, actually eating the plants that very night after being sprayed. There is some smelly stuff that seems to work for s few days but it makes me gag when I go outside , repels everything! Electric fence is against a city ordinance. My only real option is a tall fence but but I can buy 6 308AR's for what the materials alone would cost me...stupid fuk'n town deer........
  13. I hate ladders!
  14. I'll be doing that then....Maybe if all the members that buy from them would mention the need for their support on 308AR in a review they would see the light. If they did a search here they would see that they get mentioned a bunch....possible that's why the don't though, figuring we are already on the hook.
  15. We've seen some of this disease here in Iowa and eastern Nebraska but we already had so many stupid rules about bait and lure that they couldn't add much. Still have a dozen that walk through my backyard every night, counted 18 one time. I come at them waving my arms and yelling but they just keep about 15-20 feet away and wait for me to tire and go back inside then it's back to the smorgasborg of my landscaping :-(
  16. I think they are telling you the bank won't do a standard mortgage loan due to the condition, cash or a rehab loan at a higher interest rate or a different type of loan structure, pay higher interest till the rehab work is done then refinance. Pictures don't show any major work needed but there must be something under the skin, they should have to disclose it but I'd want a professional/independent inspector to give you an opinion. Lots of issues can be hiding underneath, mold, foundation settling, hidden roof rot..........looks way to new for lead issues or aluminium wiring.
  17. I'm praying for you man??
  18. Pictures?
  19. Just figured that out and fixed....didn't realize it till Shepp said he was 45 min. away, thought he must fly an SR-71!
  20. http://www.primaryarms.com/ There new site appears much easier to navigate than the old one, making it easier for them to get my money...........
  21. Looks like I'll have to get that app for sure. Probably a dumb question but do you have to have cell service for the app to work?
  22. Keep me updated, I might have to buy my first app for this smart ass phone.............
  23. I looked at several and had a reply box.....what browser do you run?
