  1. I'm getting good results with that round with all my 7.62's from a 12 inch Sig 712 to my 20 inch Armalite. Accurate and EXPLOSIVE on target! Whats left after a string of water filled jugs at 100 yards;
  2. Somewhere around here Mr. Raley posted a picture of a gas port on a 22 rimfire upper, almost plugged with lead. My question is do the plated bullets like those from Extreme Bullets make a difference with such a thin layer of copper????? http://www.xtremebullets.com/Copper-Plated-Bullets-s/2897.htm
  3. I have always understood that you use a real light coat of oil on the extension, and aero grease on the barrel nut????????
  4. Here is an e-book on the subject; http://www.amazon.com/7-62x51mm-Target-Loads-Using-Military-ebook/dp/B004LGRZ48 A print edition; http://www.amazon.com/Reloading-7-62x51mm-Military-Brass-Target/dp/B005D3028O

    My freedom!

I wouldn't mind watching it every morning, makes me want to scream "Ooh Rah, 'MERICA" !!! I would love to see some of some of our defense spending go to airing this all over the middle east. I think that would do more for our security than building a 100 schools and hospitals over there!

    My freedom!

Posted this when it came out in early September;http://forum.308ar.com/topic/11850-marcus-telling-it-like-it-is/#comment-161669 I hadn't heard or seen it again till today when I saw the NRA use it for an ad on Fox News. Marcus for President... or at least Secretary of Defense!
  10. Fantastic weather here but still very few kids stopping for candy, hope the grandkids take the leftover home, I'm fat enough!
  11. $140 plus shipping????? Slash sells them new for $125 so you want $15 more for a few rounds of experience? I think you must still want it............
  12. Now if they would just put his story on BET.............
  13. Here are some; https://www.wideners.com/itemdetail.cfm?item_id=1306&dir=278|281|1083|1132|1671 http://www.midwayusa.com/product/2046325106/hunters-supply-hard-cast-bullets-30-caliber-300-aac-blackout-309-diameter-235-grain-lead-boat-tail-spitzer-point http://missouribullet.com/details.php?prodId=182&category=6 Plated examples;http://www.xtremebullets.com/308-150-FP-p/xc308-150fp-b0500.htm Loading specs are very different for cast lead bullets, never mix load information between jacketed and lead.
  14. It's for sale on ebay right now for $36.99 but I'm not certain that qualifies it as real, hence the post in this section instead of muzzle devices .They have another for $19.99 but it only forwards sound. LOL Neither have flats to tighten them. I guess it is a quick change, just thread the brake on by hand then swap it around to deafen your foes!
  15. I wasn't sure where to put this til "Joke of the day" caught my eye; The new "Muzzle Brake/Sound Forwarder"!
  16. Glad I could help ;-)

  18. Almost enough to get to sign up for Fbook....almost.
  19. Congrats! May your taxes be low and your repairs few!
  20. Got my comps from SLR already, now I have the seed for a 5.56 build. Sure don't see any kind of blemish on the 308 comp, just like the last one!
  21. Once I got the gas port the right size and a spring issue worked out I've been through 12 different types of ammo, most cheaper stuff, and all is functioning well. These guys showed me you can get the dwell time needed on a 16 inch rifle gas barrel to be reliable. .1005 in. was the magic number for my gas port, might have gotten by a tad smaller now that parts have broken in but like you expressed, reliability was my biggest concern.
  22. Been looking at them for a lightweight 16 inch 5.56 for my wife's "blaster" but it will be after the holidays..........
  23. Congrats, that Geissele Kool Aid is some tasty stuff!
  24. http://www.strikeindustries.com/shop/index.php/products/clearance/ar-ultimate-dust-cover.html#.Virw6_mrSCh They only have the FDE Don't Tread On Me version left for AR 15 forged receivers. The one I have on my Matrix 308 build is working out great, a little tight at first but it has broke in to provide a very tight seal. They come off and go on very fast and easy but are very secure when in place and have an adjustable detent.
  25. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1985_Beirut_car_bombing http://educationforum.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=8696 http://spartacus-educational.com/JFKcaseyW.htm These are just a few versions of history, not the complete story though. I was helping train Contras and Mujahideens in the summer of 1984. Taught the rug-heads how to fire stinger missiles and dropped them at the airport where cases looking just like the ones that held the training missiles were loaded onto the same plane they got on. According to the official record these weapons were not provided till 1986......I must have been hallucinating..... When I watched the Iran/Contra hearings held a few years later my long held suspicion was confirmed, our government is out of control and both "parties" are involved. None of them came close to asking the right questions all the while the media played along failing to investigate or report anything that did not follow the testimony given in the hearings. This whole thing was a massive operation with hundreds of people involved to some degree or another but the WHOLE truth may never be known. Schwarzkopf was at the training often but was never asked a single related question. http://www.hirhome.com/iraniraq/gulfwar.htm and here we are today with the Iran nuke deal 'fata compli'.
