Wish I had time to work on some handloads for it. If it likes the 130 gr. MK319's then I'm thinking the 155 gr SMK's might hit the spot. I was hoping it would handle the heat better, my shooting style and mentality don't lend themselves to a cooling period...........

Follow up on the X-caliber barrel. When zeroed for 168 gr FGMM it will peg the bull on the first shot but starts to spread as soon as the heat is on; The first 5 rounds of the day and the last ten were with MK319 ammo, I blew a shot on the ten round group but I'll take it I guess. The first five were the best of the day, right now I'm thinking this barrel does not respond well when hot. My AR-10 chrome lined 20 inch will out shoot this barrel so far............

I've got three Bushnell's from the Elite series, 2 tactical elites 1x6.5, and they have all performed great. Beat'em, cook'em, freeze'em they hold zero without issue.

You have to check regularly, they are constantly offering different deals. I've seen some pretty good deals on +p 45 acp HP's at under 50 cents a round but the SD stuff never hangs around long. They don't usually have the same offerings for long and never have a large variety but good prices on what they do have. They get lots of good Federal stuff leading me to think they have some sort of inside track there on overruns.

Hard to reload 7.62x39 any cheaper than you can buy the steel case stuff for. I guess if you wanted an accurate load for your AK..........you'd be wasting your time!

Armalite AR-10 uses an orange insert and black O ring, M15 uses a black plug. My Armalite M15 extractor spring is .166 in long and .151 in wide (about 500 rounds on it) A new AR-10 spring is .251 long and .159 wide. The O rings are a REAL BITCH to get on! d. wilson dual spring is .240 in. long and .1555 in wide.

Well I just measured an ejector spring so I'll post it anyway; New Armalite ejector spring- 1.0765 in. 2000+ rounds on an Armalite spring gave me .964 in. Blue, I have an extra extractor spring set from Armalite, did a group buy back when shipping was $12 at Armalite. It has the plug and the O ring with the spring. PM me and I'll ship you a set.

I to was ready to call Bull$hit when I read this post. Only after reading your further post did I realize that you were refering to the performance of the bullet after impact. All the transonic talk didn't make this clear. I've never seen these bullets come apart but then never shot an Elk either..................they punch right through coyotes.

Yeah but what weights were in the carrier weight body when you used it? There isn't much info like that out there so anything you could add may benifit other board members.
