No marks like that on mine but I cut the notch and added 75 cents to give me a strong 1/8 inch between the bolt face and the bolt catch. More details and questions posted in the JT's Matrix Build thread. Measured the port with my chinese calipers and bits, .0805 or a #46 bit is where it is at now. I'll test the extension tube alteration first and if that doesn't do it I'll start opening up the gas port a size at a time.

Back on track here.... Got a notch cut in the buffer tube so it would go another turn. I cut deep enough, not on purpose, to get a second turn but then the carrier just hits the tube, I'm tempted to shave some from the top section of the extension tube so it clears. I have 75 cents in the tube so with that and the one turn added to the extension I have a strong 1/8th inch between the bolt face and the bolt catch when I pull it all the way back. It locks back when I hand cycle with a mag in it, but then it did that before. How does this sound? Any advice on shaving some to get another turn? Got my bit set in, gas port is .0805 from measuring the #46 bit. that doesn't exactly fit the numbers on the bit size chart but the calipers and the bits are made in china so close is all I get. If the rain goes away I'll test fire it in the morning as is and see if the extension depth was the issue before I start drilling and testing.

Who sells a 16 inch rifle length gas system rifle in those numbers? I have not seen any commercially available.

Armalite makes a model that takes P-mags so your receiver selection is open there. You'll have a wider selection for BCG's and barrels with the DPMS format, that is the biggest advantage I saw with going that route. My Matrix receiver has Armalite threads, takes P-mags but I have the DPMS BCG and barrel extension, confused yet? What are you looking for in a rail and what will the purpose of the rifle be, long range, bench shooting, hunting?

The search function here is a good start but if you post up the parts you're dealing with or looking at buying someone can usually point you the right way. There seems to be exceptions for every rule on these 308 AR's!

20 years ago I replaced my bathroom from the floor joists up in 26 hours. It helped that I worked for a plumber during down times and had his van parked on site with everything that would be needed, and four good friends that worked in shifts around the clock. The greenboard still needed finished off but the wife was able to get ready for work when she needed. It was my only bathroom so it had to happen! With proper planning and hard work anything is possible........I did swear I'd never try it again though......

I didn't notice any issue with mine, not hitting anything and functioned fine with dummy rounds. I can cut the notch and see where it gets me though, there was a bit of thread left but no more than on the AR I built or my other rifles. I remember you saying there needed to be a notch but figured AP must have changed it...... What will this 1 turn do that stops the short stroking? I'm not sure I understand what the issue there could be?

Very true..........if they pack my upper like the barrel and it got damaged I'd be a bit pissed. Odds are I'll drill it then just tell them what size I ended up at, already ordered the bits. They already owe me a good discount on the next barrel as it is............

Sig was putting dual ejectors on the 716 but by Dec. 2014 they were back to just using one............. I've read of a couple people on SigTalk that were having issues and sent the rifles back, Sig put dual ejector bolts in place of the single but I haven't read anything from them since.

If it was the buffer system then measuring and counting will mean nothing. I sent them a link to the Aero kit I used. Just well send the whole rifle so they can get some real R&D benefit from it............I did send them a link to the JT's matrix build thread so they could get a feel for what has been done so far. I honestly think they want to fix it...for me and so they know what to do on the next one. I wouldn't mind but it is a pain in the arse to mess with shipping when you work out of town. Another plus to letting them fix it is all the test fire ammo I'll save!

I had a group of Hells Angels ignore the flagger in a construction zone, asked what we were going to do to them? Guy in a skid loader "thought he was clear" and swung around with the bucket at head level and cleaned one right off his bike. The next group of them pulled up to the flagger in time to see their buddy being loaded into the ambulance....they waited for the pilot car!

If it is something else other than the barrel, you will be charged return shipping and a small fee for shop time, but like I said I am pretty sure it is a gas system issue. Also if you could measure the length of the buffer, spring and count the number of coils on the spring that would also be appreciated to full know all the parts of this equation. "

I've had a TRS-25 for almost 2 years. First one drained the battery in the cold but they made it right, the one they sent to replace it has worked fine well below zero and near 95 degrees with no issues.

It's not OK??????? I wouldn't be around it personally but anything to cleanse the gene pool is OK with me...... At first I thought the ad was for a 2A friendly strip club...........I was hoping to get a lap dance for a P-mag!
