  1. AMEN BROTHER! Make weapons a part of everyday life and everyday life will be safer!
  2. I bought a couple HighPoints for my brother to use as tractor guns, they actually work pretty good for that but I'll stick to My Springer and Sigs. Maybe a good thing if this scum used a HiPoint otherwise he may have done more damage.
  3. Love that shirt, found another one I love; Veteran owned so I better get to ordering!
  4. Arrived in Benning late June for basic/AIT then did Jump school before heading out to HAAF in Savannah. By the time I got to the swim test in RIP they had to break the ice off the pool so I got a taste of both extremes that year. Those swamps down in Ft. Stewart were no picnic either, I looked forward to training at NTC just to get out of the humidity!
  5. Maybe dad thought he would use it on himself, you gotta wonder what he was thinking? ???? is it possible to not think about it????
  6. :rant2: Everyone together now....I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore.I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore.I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore.I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore.I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore.I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore............... :yup: again...........
  7. No, I just can't find an easy way to revolt against those taxes. Income tax is easy, just claim 20 and don't file. Gas tax, sales tax, property tax, etc., etc, are tough ones to avoid. When it comes to voting out the politicians I try, end up writing in my own name because I know the choices are fixed and fuk'd......I'm thinking it is gonna get real messy before it gets better.
  8. How's the feel, thick or thin? I'm partial to a thinner grip with my short, fat fingers. Even with thin grips I have to adjust the grip safety to almost not there status if I want to keep a thumb on the safety.
  9. Very cool! <thumbsup>

  11. My boss just showed me this video last week. He was a bridge designer before coming out in the field to be a PE. We had a good laugh for sure....really not far from some of the crap I see "American" contractors pull, of course they don't speak much English either...........
  12. What are we drinking???? I'm a Scotch and water guy, Johnny Walker Blue preferably but I can go black if needed.
  13. Anybody got copies of all the tech notes I could get? PM me if so...............knew I should have printed the $hit out.........
  14. http://armalite.com/ Went to do a little research and found a new face on an old friend. My account is still good......good for nothing! I can't order any parts except by phone. They also removed the tech notes
  15. Watching made me want to start a tax revolt........but then I don't make enough to pay income tax.........really, they gave it all back last year <dontknow>
  16. It is possible this zit that is gun control would have already come to a head and been exposed for what it is. Then possibly it could have been dealt with properly. Instead we have allowed "compromise" to compromise our values and left a mess for our Grandchildren to straighten out, one way or the other. Just imagine if our ancestors would have stood their ground against the NFA instead trading their rights for some handouts..................
  17. It isn't just propaganda, I wasn't a dealer but have always been politically active. I distinctly remember the NRA playing a role in the passage. "Former NRA lobbyist Richard Feldman, who has since parted ways with the organization, tells NPR that Wayne LaPierre, currently NRA's executive vice president, was willing to let the machine gun ban go forward if it meant the larger bill it was attached to would pass. "I remember very well having dinner ... with Wayne LaPierre on the big victory after it passed the House," he says. "And we weren't too concerned about the machine gun issue, but it came back to haunt Warren Cassidy." Opening The Door? "At the time, Cassidy headed the NRA's lobby, the Institute for Legislative Action. He confirms now that LaPierre, who did not respond to a request for comment, pushed hard to let the machine gun ban stand. "He said, 'I want to do it. I think we have to do it.' So I said yes, and that was the end of the story. It passed, and as we learned immediately, an element of NRA, a very vociferous element of NRA ... determined that it just couldn't be that way," Cassidy says. "We couldn't give an inch. I don't think they ever forgave me for it." From this article but there are many references to this and I've heard the interviews; http://www.npr.org/sections/itsallpolitics/2013/01/18/169526687/the-decades-old-gun-ban-thats-still-on-the-books The NRA does their best to spin it but they dropped the ball and opened the door, plain and simple. I don't want to be divisive but the reality is the NRA is a political organization and plays politics with our rights.
  18. They agreed to support the legislation publicly, they lobbied there members to ask there reps to pass it. behind the scenes I have heard anecdotal evidence that they were instrumental in the negotiations. If the NRA would have stood firm against it there is a good chance it never would have gotten to Reagan's desk. But.......in the end ultimate responsibility belongs to us, the sheeple that elected the cowardly bastards. I remember this very well, it ended my NRA support and when the price of full auto weapons shot through the roof it crushed my hopes of owning one.
  19. Roosevelt made us register our machine-guns....Reagan and the NRA effectively took them away..... A lesson to learn from the old man in the story, never put all your eggs in one basket............
  20. There appears to be a new trend down south, I dropped a few dollars while working in Mississippi last year; Annual tax-free gun and ammo weekend now a reality in Mississippi; http://www.bizjournals.com/memphis/news/2014/04/03/annual-taxfree-gun-and-ammo-weekend-now-a-reality.html
  21. Swapped scopes back to my Bushnell elite on the AR-10 and shot 5 more 5 round groups. 2 MOA was as good as it got, pretty consistent at 2 MOA but with a good spread each time, only three pairs touching out of the 5 groups. Plenty good for a hunting round but not near what I'm used to getting with M80 ball and 175 match stuff out of this rifle. Looks like I'll be saving this ammo for what it was made for, my short barrel rifle..... er.....I mean "pistol"
  22. :threadjack: Not where I thought this thread was going from the title.. but..right here it is; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DPMS_Panther_Arms <munch>
  23. How do I know when I'm the old guy??????
  24. Put 60 rounds of MK 319 downrange today. My AR-10 has a 20 inch barrel with 11.25 twist. 10 rounds gave me a 3 inch group at 100 yards. I think I'll try it again once I put one of my good scopes back on it though, I still haven't got the hang of the PA scope so it may not be a fair gauge of accuracy. The target shown is where the rounds end up with the scope zeroed best I could for 175gr match stuff; The P716 with a 12.5 inch 1-10 twist barrel did a bit better with a 1.2 inch 4 shot group and a fifth flyer to open it up to 2.5 inch, my fault there. That was the best group of the bunch but I was using an old Tasco scope and the Sig trigger is junk so I'm betting these groups will improve as I improve the rifle. I only had one double feed in the Sig as far as function issues, new rifle and it did it twice before with ZQ stuff so odds are it is a rifle issue. They say this stuff has a 10% recoil reduction but it seemed to have a good bit more recoil than the ball ammo I have shot from the Sig and the 175 grain stuff I've been shooting in the AR-10. I'm saving up plastic jugs big enough to use in an attempt to recover an expanded bullet. I shot a bunch of steel and couldn't find a trace of the jacket. It only slightly dimpled the AR500. For 66 cents a round I think I'll get more.
