  1. Advice from my Father before leaving to Benning, "Keep your mouth shut, don't volunteer, don't ask questions and when asked there are only three answers, yes sgt. no sgt. and no excuse sgt." Followed his advice although he forgot to add it is "Drill Sgt." not just Sgt. which cost a few belly crawl under the barracks episodes. I may be a contrarian arse but I'm not a stupid arse. If I remember correctly the intricacies of the FA were explained better once at battalion but it was just part of the firehose they turned loose on you there.
  2. Nah, those cages can't slip between branches like a ball and rider can. Let Darwin work............
  3. Yep, I catch myself doing it all the time, amazing how that muscle memory hangs in there for so many years. Never did understand why they made us do it but I tended not to ask many questions like that.
  4. Nice fish! Love catching those big fighters, they taste like schit in my neck of the woods though.

  6. The extra velocity will add some distance before going transonic. The extra weight will make the rifle more stable for spotting your rounds. Personally I prefer shorter stuff but have and will build some longer barrel rifles just to have the option at hand for friends and family.

  8. Good thing you were home when he did it, could have been so much worse if you didn’t catch it right away! Bet the kid takes a close look at his equipment going forward.

  10. I bought some last summer and had a similar experience, shot as well as the federal M80, maybe a bit better.
  11. Ran good I gather? Did you have to make any changes in gas port size? I have one of those uppers waiting on a build myself, how was the scope height for you? Been debating if I should use it on a shorty build or a more bench gun oriented build.
  12. Dubl Stuft Imperial Stout from The Brewing Project of Eau Claire WI. compliments of my Wisconsin Brother. Seems odd and may be a subliminal thing but it smells like Oreo cookies. I get some chocolate cake flavor and that distinct Oreo filling flavor, touch of vanilla. You start to get some of those dried fruit flavors as it warms but the creamy sweet oreo filling flavor dominates all the way. Very little indication of the over 10% ABV. Very tasty beer, a desert beer if I ever drank one, thank you for another fantastic flavor experience Brother!
  13. Not much detail but it looks like the detent holds the collar in place and not the clamp, still not sure I like the set up all that well.
  14. For sure the Armalite kit mentioned above, best buy out there. If it says out of stock try calling, more than once they have hooked people up.

  16. The Armalite AR-10 Spring is a known reliable part. Works for both carbine and rifle systems. https://www.rainierarms.com/armalite-ar10-buffer-spring/
  17. For the carbine buffer system you can run an AR-15 H3 buffer but only in a 7 5/8 inch internal depth buffer tube. Armalite, BCM, and Vltor are a few that sell these tubes. The Armalite kit gets lots of recommendations here; https://www.armalite.com/product/ar10rekit01-6-position-receiver-extension-kit/

  19. truth! The fed probably doesn't even mind a few extra actual paper bills in circulation to represent some of what they have put on the books in their "capital creation" efforts. A strange dynamic could arise with less than 2 trillion of actual US of A hard cash money in circulation. The electronic dollar could be discounted or just removed in a financial reset, think recent Greece, that hard cash being a scarce representative of a big chunk of "capital" should gain value, shouldn't it? Sure starting to hear the term "chinese spy" in the news a bunch nowadays...........hope we have been busy and this is the rats grabbing the last they can before the trap sets.....or is the trap now sprung.......
  20. Welcome from Iowa!
  21. Love mine, best bang for the buck in an AR trigger.
  22. @bubbas4570, ever load pistol bullets? That is a big factor for me, anything I can do to lower ammo costs is a plus.
  23. Crucifixion-Third Servile War DIPA with sacramental bread and some hops I never heard of. Brewed by Dorchester Brewing Boston Mass. For Nightmare Brewing and distributed by 12%. Has that hoppy citrus aroma, pretty crisp and fresh. Starts out with a taste of tropical fruits and some sweet malt but rapidly has a hop explosion! Has lots of citrus and pineapple with some alcohol heat up front then transitions to a floral spicy hop thing, hints of pine underneath with that fresh green grass note, leaves a long term dry bitter on the pallet. As it warms it gets sweeter, less bitter, more floral. A moving target of flavor!
  24. No but ain't leaving her alone with it either! She just thrashes the thing...... ...............better make sure she can't get to the char cloth..........
