  1. The PRS is adjustable, but not collapsible. They're sturdy as hell though. That's what I run on both of my AR-10 SASS rifles. I would only suggest to think about whether or not you want a 20" barrel. If you're building this to be a bench gun, or for it to be used in a (fixed emplacement) sniper type of role, then the weight won't make a difference. But if you're planning to use this gun for something on the move, you might want to consider a shorter barrel. Many people around here (myself included) will attest to the distance that that the large frame AR platform can reach out to. The average 16" 308 AR can easily reach out past 500 yards without any problem. And the weight really shaves off with as the barrel gets shorter. Plus the whole maneuverability factor. Not knocking your plans at all my man. Just throwing out things to consider with your build. Edit - I went back to my last SASS build thread. She came out weighing 15 pounds empty. Just for refernce.
  2. Last time I checked, I blew out 1 (or 2 maybe) of the 3 gas rings on my MK-18. It was still running just fine. I might get around to replacing them before my upcoming trip to AZ.
  3. Unbelievable. I've seen pics of B-17'a with their tail blown off and landing. Even seen pics of B-29's shot to hell and still making back. I've never even heard of a B-52 having this kind of catastrophic damage AND flying back and landing under it's own power. A tip of the hat to the captain and crew of that stratofortress, and Boeing. The B-52's have been around for a lot longer than most people even realize.

I can see there's gonna be lots of steak dinner's at Al's for a while. Would you like a side of steak to go along with that steak?
  5. I don't necessarily agree with this statement. This part is highly accurate though. Welcome aboard from Maryland.
  6. Keep laughing smartass. All I need is a notary public, and then.................. YOU LOSE! Good day Sir!
  7. Thank you Doc. At least SOMEONE gets it. (laughing)
  8. I already eat like a caveman as it is. I eat better at the SDTF than I ever do at home. Too! I gotta figure out a way to get you out of the trust. Little angel? Ahh....you've met her dude. AND....it's Star TREK stuff my man. There's a difference. After all. My model starships are better than their's can ever be.
  9. Holee $hit! Flashbacks from being a kid. Every fall, my pop and my mother would load my middle brother and me in the car and drive down into Luray (in Virginia along the Shenandoah's), headed for the roadside apple stands. She would have us load up as many bushel's of apples as we could fit into the trunk of that '72 Lincoln. If I remember correctly, we could squeeze between 6 and 8 easily into that big ass trunk. Then we'd go home, and the assembly line would begin. After that, I don't think that a meal would go by, throughout the fall/winter/spring, that we didn't have apple sauce and/or apple butter on the table. That might be one of the reasons why I don't eat the stuff these days.
  10. Damn, that's pretty nice Doc.
  11. Stories like this is why that generation is referred to as the greatest generation. A young boy was trying to do anything he could, to get into the fight. Another great find Rene.
  12. Nice reach around........................er....ahh.....work around. Good job brother.
  13. You deserve what you get. That's what ammo cans are made for. That steel clasp actually works ya know.
  14. I'm liking the way this sounds. Looking forward to hearing the results.

  19. Welcome from Maryland.
  20. You're welcome brother.
  21. Good lookin wheel guns ya got there.
  22. https://www.jprifles.com/1.4.6_gs.php Yep. They still make it.
  23. I think that JP sells an adjustable A2 style sight. At least they used to. I put one on one of my AR-10 carbines. But that was also a couple years back.
  24. Same here for all my 10B's. All gen 2 mags. Now handguards? I run a variety of different manufacturers for that. My 2 SASS's are probably the only 2 that I'm using an Armalite rail on. And that's also because it incorporates the adjustable gas system.
  25. Another great find Rene. And I agree with Tom. It's a hell of a rush rolling out of a plane at 14,000 feet.
