Redi-Mag type device for AR10?
Rsquared replied to RayGun19's topic in AR-10 General, Technical Discussion
Isn't that what the chest rig is for anyway? Though you can still only carry so many loaded 308 mags. And good luck if you fall into a river.......you'll sink. <lmao> -
^^^^^ I'm right there with you on that one Jon.

Hydraulic buffer for DPMS LR 308?
Rsquared replied to gnatshooter's topic in DPMS Panther Arms LR-308 | Bushmaster 308
That's pretty much where I was gonna go with my answer Rob. Manufacture's pretty much put out products that work and function reliably (not counting CMMG <laughs>) It's the aftermarkets, just as with car parts, that people use to tweak and tune their individual equipment. And, just as with car parts, everybody has opinions on which ones are made, and work the best. And to keep with the automotive analogy...........performance equals $$$$. -

You're already on the list, man. -
<laughs> You say that as if any of these guys (including yourself) didn't have an influence on this build. This is a build for all of the brothers. And someday, we'll all be sitting around a fire (with Magwa of course) laughing about it........after shooting the living hell out of it that is. After all.....it's just another tool in the toolbox. This is a culmination of ideas that we've all talked about at one time or another. Just another fun rifle......that we can all play with. No evil.......no black hearted intentions. No "thug-like" ideas. Just a buncha "functioning" drunks (lifting our glass) sittin around BS-ing with each other. Isn't that what all of this is about? A like-minded community where we can...............................................DAMN! Just spilled my beer! Where was I? Oh yeah.........so we can laugh at each other? As you were. Carry on.

5 weeks? Pony express was faster and more efficient. I don't blame you brother.

Since Matt wanted to bust my balls. Here's a quick pic with can on it. And, I just got an ACS stock on it (nice stock). I'll try to get more in the morning (when the sun comes up.....I keep my place in a subdued environment).

Hmmmm. So, you're saying I have a problem then. Maybe I need a 12 step program for rifles. -

Can you ever REALLY have enough? After all.....they're all different! It's not like any of us just keep building the same thing over and over. So what's one more? Just keep stacking them like cord-wood. That's what the rest of us do. <laughs> -
Really? I haven't tried mine with the can yet. I only just got her built and legal about 2 weeks ago......after a long wait with the ATF. I just know from running my 10 carbine's with my AAC can, that they overheat (and overgas) after a couple of mags.....and start stuttering. Before eventually freezing up. Lugs usually lock up in the chamber. That's one of the reasons why I use hi-temp bearing grease (a light coating) on the carrier and lugs when I plan to use the can, and don't ever have an issue. Are you running anything special (extra wet, grease, spit on it <laughs> , or anything)?

Hydraulic buffer for DPMS LR 308?
Rsquared replied to gnatshooter's topic in DPMS Panther Arms LR-308 | Bushmaster 308
I run heavy buffers and adjustable blocks on all of my 10's. Yes, you can adjust the gas down to a point, but then you run the risk of not having enough cycling "Hmmmphhh". With the heavy buffer, you still get enough power out of the action of the gas system, to cycle the carrier, while smoothing it out utilizing the buffer. All of my 10's run smoothly.....while not wearing out your shoulder.......even suppressed. I suppose that this topic will end up just like any other "opinion based" theory. It all comes down to what works for the individual. What may work for one, doesn't necessarily work for another. where'd I leave my beer at before sitting down to type this? -

^^^^ Don't say that I blame you Montana. Hell, I've had a pair of SI Defense BCG's in 5.56 on order for what seems like forever now. -
Down right sexy. Out-Fing-standing David. Are you running an adjustable block for use with your can? Or just dealing with the abuse that they dish out on 10's? <laughs>
-
I like it. I'm a fan of the look of those Apex handguards. I plan to put one on my next build. Welcome to the forum David.

I sure hope that mass quantities of Miller Genuine Draft don't count. <laughs> :bb:

Hydraulic buffer for DPMS LR 308?
Rsquared replied to gnatshooter's topic in DPMS Panther Arms LR-308 | Bushmaster 308
I'm with Robo on this issue. I run nothing but buffers from heavybuffers.com. Mostly for use with suppressors, but they really make things run smoother when running without the cans. Just an opinion. -
Awwww...it's ok.....I'm not on any meds. <laughs> :cookoo:

Have you been talkin to my ex old-lady? 7 3/4? <lmao> She's not fair ya know.

Rene is ALWAYS welcome at the hermit lodge! ..............................just sayin -
First of all. Welcome to the forum my man. 2nd. Yes. It's only compatible with the DPMS/SR25 (M-110) pattern of 308's. I ain't gonna bash your equipment, but it's definitely the beginning of your dive into the 308 world. CMMG is known for having some issues, but around here.....we try to think that ingenuity can try to fix anything. Not to be a stickler, but no, it's not an AR-10 (but I've been known to have a biased opinion). Armalite's are AR-10's. The others are 308 AR's.....not taking anything away from many of them. There are some pretty sweet rifle's made by many different outfits. Throw out any questions that you may have my brother. That's what all of us are here for. All of us are always bouncing ideas off of each other. Semper Fi!

Come on now......you don't really want his kind around there. Next thing you know....he'd be going from door to door selling policeman's balls tickets........or for bike rally's.....or something like that. NOW......a good ol fashioned, keep to himself, don't bother nobody kinda guy (unless he's F-ed with) , hermit like me......would probably fit in real easy. And hell.....I always have beer. <laughs> BUT.........Rob's always invited though. -
I'm with Matt on this one. If the price is similar.....I'd go for the magnification.....just because. But......with that being said. Being one of the card-carrying enablers of the site......I'd say get one of each and just build another rifle. <laughs>
-
Me personally, I'd never get rid of an M1A (M14). But, with that being said, I've never gotten rid of anything. I don't ever seem to sell......I just seem to add to the collection. Just me.
-
I say.....as long as it works (for you)......go for it! just thinkin out loud
