Used to know someone who did this every winter can't think who off hand. Also the two older guys of my deer hunting group used to tent camp for gun deer in Northern wisc, 70's-80's. they got some wild stories used to set up tents in a balsum grove.

Made a big pot of stock while watching football today, If you have a pressure canner you can can it, if not freeze it. Smoked turkey/chicken remains make awesome stock for chili or soup. take all your left overs after you've picked the meat off, bones, skin, giblets (minus liver) break up if need be put it in a pot with a coupe carrots and parsnip unskun and washed, one onion quartered with skin on, fresh parsley and tyme, few sticks of celery (with leaves) few Bay leaves, pepper corns and few cloves of garlic cover completely with water and simmer all day when done pull out large bits and strain (I like to cool it put it in the fridge over night then skim the fat off the top once it hardens).

You guys all talking .410 makes me think of my 28 gauge. It was my moms dads, I'm greatful my uncle held onto it for so long and never pawned it. He gave it and a model 12 twelve gauge to me when I was 10 or so. My dad hunted rabbits with it till I was old enough. The thing I love about it is it has taught me how to de cock a gun safely and proficiently. A group of my friend have talked about going rabbit hunting this winter I need to get some shells for it but I'm excited to get back out and hunt with it. My dad enjoyed it so much he waited for Remington to make them (guess they do a run so many years) and picked up a pump wing master.
