  1. I'm thinking about getting some Tula primers there suppose to be a little bit bigger than other primers. I have noticed that they are tighter in my pistol brass.
  2. I have 500 rnds. of 175gr match and haven't lost a primer yet. Only bought it so I could use my rifle until I got my reloading started for the .308. I have used the brass for reloading and the primer pockets seem to loosen up pretty quick (5 times) without any other pressure signs, so it makes me wounder if the brass is soft.
  3. Thanks, thats good to know about the barrel threads, as far the budget goes I ended up getting a Giselle SSA trigger when the wife wasn't looking maybe I can do it again :rant2:
  4. I've been thinking on what I want the rifle to do and the answer I come up with is being able to keep the sights on target for faster follow up shots. So as I research out what I want to buy what should I be looking for in a comp? Large holes on top to prevent muzzle rise and what about accuracy will any of these affect it and what kind of effect if any? If it just changes POI without opening the groups up I think I can live with that. And do different manufactures have different threads cut on the barrel or is it an industry standard where there all the same? Thanks guy's
  5. Very interesting Robo I'm thinking about upgrading from my A2 flash hider to an brake or compensater. I kinda took notice of the group sizes from the full auto test. Defenetly gives me something to think about. <thumbsup>
  6. Well I don't know if I can tell the difference or not but the Kansas city police just put in a new listening device thats supposed to tell the difference for 3 square mi. Of course they put it in the middle of gangland.
  7. Yep I like the old contract guns as well the only one I have right now is an 1944 Remington Rand 1911A1 from 1944. Wounder how many people remember what a typewriter is?
  8. If I understand you correctly, lets put it this way if I have to sprinkle my blood on the alter of freedom for our constitution then so be it I know where I'm spending eternity. ;D
  9. At our church we did a little experiment with our bibles, we were told that they were no longer legal to have and we had bins at the front door to put them in. Out of 50 people only 5 of us didn't give them up. You may say its only a bible but to some of us its just as important as our right to bear arms. Trust me you'll be surprised at how quick some will turn them in to be legal in the eyes of the law. I know there will also be those that stand up for what they believe in, there just not as many as you think. I would like to think I'm wrong but I have this feeling I'm not.
  10. I wounder how many sheeple will turn in there guns to the government if this happens all because they think the government knows what best for its people. I'm in fear for our country and the constitution that we fought so hard to keep all these years. The amount of debt and the corporate infiltration of our government, over 2/3rds of congress are millionairess so how is the middle or lower class of people ever going to have a fair voice in these times. I'm just tiered of seeing the same old thing going on and what was once a great nation now so far in debt that we barrow money from other countries that rather see us fail. In my opinion we need to get back to GOD and the morals that HE established for us because this everybody that does what is right in there owns eyes thing doesn't work. >:( Sorry for the rant guy's its just I love our country and I hate to see where its going.
  11. Oh Yea, few less Taliban is a good thing <thumbsup>.
  12. Oops answered the wrong post sorry. But anyway I like my lee turret press it turns out good rifle ammo and pistol ammo. You can run it as a single stage or auto indexing press and doesn't have such as high start up cost as the other brands. My brother likes his RCBS and I've used it when getting started to see if I was going to like reloading. It works good, nice press I don't think you can go wrong with it.
  13. I didn't catch the part about the change in programming. I was thinking along the line of coating the entire receiver instead of just repairing the week spots. Do you think it feasible?
  14. I know a lot of people consider it sacrilege to put a scope on a lever gun but my Winchester 94ae doesn't mind although the deer might. My son took his first deer with my scoped 94ae. [img width=810 height=607]http://i897.photobucket.com/albums/ac176/seasprite/Winchester%2094ae/DSCF0197.jpg
  15. I'll keep it in mind but right now I'm testing an PRI adjustable gas block, just got it tuned last weekend now I need to get back out and see if the action is still going to cycle my ammo with the settings that I have.
  16. That was a pretty neat read there 98Z5V. Seemed like he had some problems with the layers separating and some cracking when stress was applied to certain areas of the plastic. I wounder if some kind of heat treatment or epoxy coating would keep this from happening.
  17. I seem to remember reading on a forum (can't remember which one) that somebody tried to manufacture a composite lower but had problems where the buffer tube mounted. The lower would crack or brake. Found this on ar15 I guess I remembered :cookoo: http://i34.tinypic.com/23hkb2g.jpg
  18. Sounds like another good idea jeffreyC thats what I like about these rifles there's so much that you can do to them that your only limited by your imagination.
  19. Thanks unforgiven I appreciate the support <thumbsup>
  20. Picked up a 1000 lead bullets at the local gun store today they still had plenty in stock but I notice some holes on the ammo shelf behind the counter still alot to choose from though. I don't know if its just a few calibers that are missing or its just a certain brand. In the past the shelves where always full. 500 230gr LRN Missouri bullet 500 200gr LSWC Missouri bullet Would like to pick up 1000 more but I have to get some rifle bullets next Horndy 168gr A-max, would like to get 500-1000 of these.
  21. Well I finally got out to the range today to tune the gas block took 5 full turns to get it to cycle the 175gr PPU ammo that I had plus I ran some of my reloads through the rifle as well. I can tell you it made one heck of a difference on the way my brass was looking when it ejected the rims no longer are bent and no dings on the case neck plus the ejector swipes have disappeared. Since the brass now ejects at the 4:00 position now it bounces of the booth wall where I can just reach down and pick it up instead out in front of the booth where I had to wait for a cease fire to go get my brass before somebody else claimed it as there own. I just locktighted the set screw for now while I think of something more user friendly like what Jgun did. Later on this year I'm going to put a free float rail on here and would like access to the adjustment screw if its ever needed.
  22. I have to laugh <lmao> when they say they want an honest conversation as they strip away the rights we American citizens have. And I have to ask what Gun show loophole <dontknow> The last time I bought a gun at a show they still did the background check and speaking of that what could they do to strengthen the background check ask for DNA :strokin:
  23. Now thats what they want just look at Chicago isn't that part of Obama's pride and joy when he was in the Senate. Read an news report where 19 people were shot and 6 killed this Labor day weekend.
  24. Thanks, for all your help survivalshop, I'll defiantly check everything out that you mentioned. I was wondering what would use the taper pins that you mentioned earlier so the A2 sight does thanks again <thumbsup>.
  25. Obama is after are GUNS. Read this on page 53 under the heading of firearms he's wanting to reinstate the assault weapons ban. This guy has got to go. http://assets.dstatic.org/dnc-platform/2012-National-Platform.pdf
