  1. I tried 45 degree BUIS and they seemed to catch on everything. And I also did not like the cluttered gun look .Instead of a BUIS on my AR10 rifle, I went with a mini green dot sight on a 45 degree angle Picatiny mount. On my AR10T carbine, when I went with the Primary Arms 1x6 I just skipped having a BUIS. I have foldable BUIS on my AR15 rifle.
  2. Hold the Mayo.
  3. Glad to hear everything worked OK.
  4. They are on my "go to" when things go bump in the night for just that reason.
  5. Watch that hurricane, they never know exactly what they will do. Stay safe.
  6. Cool! thanks. Any fixed sight pistol almost always shoots 3 inches to the left of the bullseye at 10 yards for me. It is my eye, not the sights problem. So I could use that on a number of pistols.
  7. Texans after Harvey have been a role model of helping each other that the rest of us can admire and emulate when our turn comes.
  8. I know your right, but right now a lot of places are going to need access to FEMA funds quickly. And Congress needs to allocate it. We had a FEMA issue when I was Town Chair, so I know the song and dance.
  9. Sounds like the southern US is going to get another kick in the nuts. You members in Florida, stay safe and hope it misses you. Harvey guys, I contacted my Senators and Congressman and basically told them they better be front and center on getting aid for Harvey victims passed quick even if they are from Wisconsin. No excuse not to get it done. They can do something useful for a change. Our thoughts are with you as well.
  10. It sounds just like a neighbor. " You know that 11k generator that's new in the crate in my garage you wanted? I just gave my cousin in Florida a great deal on it." Damn! Perfecta is ok ammo too.
  11. It shouldn't be doing that. period. See what happens after you install the ejector spring and ejector. While you are at it check your gas rings on the bolt. Thinking a small crack in one might increase in size as the temperature of the bolt increases, causing more friction between the bolt and the BCG. Just a thought.
  12. Been in Minot in the middle of winter. Dry Cold? It is cold, period. No colder than living on Lake Superior though. We are cold year round, probably 15 degrees lower then the surrounding area in the summer. In the winter we are about 15 degrees warmer until if and when the Lake freezes, then we are just cold again, period. I like the cold until February, then I get sick of it. Time to bail then.

    Nice teal are tasty.
  14. cut and sized 175 300 Blackout Brass then went to see Bonnie Raitt, had tickets that were 50 feet from where she was on stage. Great concert. Her politics aside, she is a great guitarist. FS, looks like you got some range time in. That is always good.
  15. I bought mine five and six years ago. I don't know if they have kept their QC up, I hope so, but I have heard a few rumblings.
  16. Not that I like my Armalite B models or anything............
  17. That's why I traded in my 2 wheeler for a vette. Almost got broadsided by a granola eater pulling a trailer full of sea kayaks and talking to his friend while he drove through the stop sign.
  18. Just finished cutting forming and sizing 175 300 Blackout brass out of Lake City 5.56 brass. Answered the question: "Why are 300 Blackout rounds so expensive?" Answer: "Because they are worth it" A lot of work.
  19. Great thread. I really like M118LR in my AR10's. If you really like repeatable accuracy and don't mind a hassle cleaning the barrel, try Moly coated BTHP's sometime. My best accuracy so far have been with Moly coated 168gr BTHP's. I am going to start coating my own, as my over the counter source has dried up. But be warned, cleaning the barrels is a time consuming chore. On the other hand, I have seen some residual accuracy benefits when I switched to some Mil Surp ammo midway through a shooting session, so maybe I should just leave it for a while.
  20. Welcome from North of Shepp. I just got a Luth myself. Haven't put it on yet. .Congrats on the marriage and house. Nice looking build so far.
  21. Been thinking about one of those. Look forward to hearing more about your using it.
  22. Tried my cutoff saw today with a DeWalt grinding blade and my cheap Amazon jig. Like a hot knife through butter. Can do 100 in less than an hour
  23. For whatever reason the chop saw I got did not have the power to cleanly cut the cases. It messed a bunch of them up. Went to Harbor Freight today, but their current mini chop saw is the same as the one I picked up from Amazon only with a different label. For $10 more I decided to try a 6 inch cut off saw. As brass is non sparking, sparks should not be an issue but I will start outside just to be safe. This is what I got. Will let everyone know how it works. https://www.harborfreight.com/6-in-55-amp-cut-off-saw-61659.html
  24. I had Siglites on my SP2022 did not see much difference between those and the Tru Glows for visibility.
  25. I got those for my FNX 45. They work pretty well.
