  1. Their lower tier glass is probably made in the same plant in China as the "cheap" imports. A few cosmetic and labeling changes, and it is marketed as their own.
  2. I wouldn't change a thing until you have put a couple hundred rounds of high quality ammo through it so you have a baseline assessment on which to draw. The original Armalite's (read older models). Utilized something called "Integrated systems engineering'. which essentially means the operation of one part can affect the performance of another. An original Armalite part might be spec'd out to interact with other parts of the system optimally. I believe RRA did this as well. That is part of the reason they could guarantee 1-1.5 MOA's with their rifles. Know what you have first, before changing it, so you can change it back if you don't get the performance you want. As far as optics, my next one will be the Primary Arms 1x6 with the 7.62/5.56 BDC grid. My second choice for reasonable price would be either the Nikon M308 BDC or a good Nikon Monarch if you aren't interested in the BDC feature.Engr Bob is right about cheap glass working well most the time. You are paying for the warranty and for better odds that nothing will break over the life of the scope.
  3. welcome from Wisconsin
  4. Didn't say there was a good reason for it, Just what I am used to and prefer.
  5. Never tried a Sig 320. Did not particularly like my SP2022. Not a fan of hammerless Automatics, but we will see.
  6. First BSG was a let down. Second SYFy channel one was great.
  7. Blue Thunder? Hulk Hogan, and Jack Lemon's kid? With Sting as a bad guy? That was so bad it was actually mildly entertaining! Wait a minute, no that was the choppper show. Trying to remember what that fluff was called that Hulk Hogan was in with the speedboat.
  8. That will keep you busy!
  9. Keep sending prayers until we hear good news.
  10. A late welcome from Wisconsin ecott. The wife just dragged me to Basque country, San Sebastian and Bilbao in Spain, holy crud! Now I know what you mean about Basque food. When they delivered a kilo of ribeye to our table, I knew I was among kindred spirits. Nothing small about them! I like photography, but I am not close to what you and DNP are doing.

  12. And pass up an excuse for a fight? Not in my younger days. That was before everybody was packing. I am older , wiser, and more battered now, but in my younger days I didn't care, I had a mean streak, what can I say. Any way, he would have to give me justifiable cause first. Found a women I could trust 33 years ago. Never have looked back.Still married to her, and will never remarry if anything happened to her. Trust is the one thing you can't fix easily if it is broken. But in my younger days the ones you couldn't trust were sometimes the most fun.
  13. Seen this before. Bags out the door, locks changed, maybe a little punching practice with her boyfriend if he gets lippy (should be so lucky). Once burned, never trust them again. That's the advice I give my son.
  14. Until you hunt and catch your own food, you don't really know and value the meaning of life. Something has to die, so that others can live. That is the way of nature. To deny this is to deny the natural order of things.
  15. Nice! At the range a while back, one of the locals had a can with interchangable threaded backs that he could switch. He had one in 45, and another in 30 cal so he could use the same supressor on multiple firearms easily. I will have to look him up, but that makes some sense.
  16. Everyone above did a damn good job describing the current situation. In our area, the local native american bands are trying to lay claim to anything and everything as belonging exclusively to them while ignoring the fact they used violence to take it away from other tribal bands in the first place. Time for them and a lot of other minority groups to decide; are they American, or not?
  17. Welcome from Northern Wisconsin. You got a great deal. Don't worry about the magazine issue. Gen 2 B Armalite mags are a good, reliable tough magazines. Just pick up a few when you see them for sale. When you get that kind of a deal, you can afford a few extra mags.
  18. I didn't have the extractor pin shear, but I had the O ring under the extractor spring break, and caused the same thing. Replaced it and it works fine.Might want to see if Armalite has any AR10 field repair kits. I think they might have DC'd them after MRaley left, but I am not sure.
  19. That is a bargain, when you look at the market competition.
  20. Tell that to my 75% hearing loss. Because when I was a kid, none of us wore ear protectors.
  21. I like my FNX, but shooting a 1911 is embracing our history for the last 100 years with every shot. It is more than just a handgun. I just have to always tear it away from my son at the range. At least until his next birthday, then I will solve that.
  22. FN actually used the Colt 1911 as a model for the grip angle for the FNX 45 Tactical.
  23. Mags, your gonna love it.
  24. Blessed with XXXL hands. When I find any gloves my size I buy them out.
  25. Yep!
