They say the resin tip improves the ballistic coefficient to enable the bullet to maintain the ability to stay supersonic to 1000 yards. Guessing it would be an extremely hot powder load. I like my AR10's and I worry now about long term use of M118LR after I put it on a chronograph and saw how hot it was.The bullet is only one variable, so I am guessing it could, but I probably wouldn't unless I was the Army Marksmanship Unit and had a squad of full time armorers to service my weapons. The Hornady could probably do so as well but at what load and what long term price to your weapon? As the TMK is out a while we will get more info on recommended loads and we will see just how better it is.

I would take a C7 ZO6 over a Hell Kitty any day. Straight line the Kitty might be a shade faster but through the curves it would be in my rear view mirror My standard C5 convertible can take on the SRT Challenger as it stands, at least with the drivers sround here. I know a lot of you guys have built your rifles and are rightfully proud of them and their performance. That being said, I picked up an Armalite AR10T last fall that has a 16" Stainless Bull Barrel, an Armalite National Match trigger, and a free floating foreend. I doubt I could build this quality of a rifle for what I paid for it complete: $1,299.00. It is more accurate than I am, and Other than Optic, bipod, BUIS, and a sling, I have added nothing, and don't really see a reason to. With everything on it, using a Burris 2x12 Fairfield scope, I have $1750 invested. I did miss out on the accomplishement of making it myself, but the point is, if you want, you can get some great deals on manufactured rifles, especially right now. And the same goes for Optics. I think building your own rifle is a great philosophy, but it is just that, a philosophical difference.

After looking at your picture I went back and moved mine back to flush with the front of the hand guard. Looks better and less overhang to catch stuff. Like you said, a neat piece of kit.
