    1903 Colt

Here is an old 1903 32 auto, A good shooter, I bought for my wife about 45 years ago, it was used and pretty much a rust bucket. It has a serial number in the 262xxx range, practiced reblueing it in gunsmith school, about 40 years ago, Wife carried it daily until she got a nice little .380 The grips were the ones that came on the pistol......well, when it came to me , that is..

  9. I have a one year old LR308 Oracle that is marked CAL.308 on the lower mag well and is marked DPMS 7.62X51 1-10 on the barrel.
  10. We been having several bad pickup wrecks here lately. a Chevy 1500 Silverado and a Dodge 1500 Ram had a head on on State 36 a two lane, and killed several people a 32 year old daddy and two of his kids severely injuring a small boy,in the Dodge and killed a young girl in the Chevy maybe we should ban 2 way two lane highways? We already know we can't ban 1/2 ton pickups, that is what we pull our horse trailers with to the goat ropings, and haul our AR15s and LR 308s and AR10s, and 870s in when we go out shooting, not to mention our boat trailers! WE BE TEXSANS!

  13. Is this a new rifle? or used? a short barrel ECT., ECT., different strokes for different DPMS pieces tell us what you have, is it a factory Rifle? was it built by someone, who when , what do you know, can you post pictures?,,. before you buy any large amount of ammo try 20 to 50 rounds of various available rounds. Shooting a .308 does have an amount of expense associated with the beast. FROM One Newbie here, to another Newbie: Hey!... you are a newbie here, hang around awhile, and these guys will get you the info that you need You input info, they ask for more info and that is how the process works, don't be a smart ass, these regulars will see right thru any trash you shoot at them, be honest and above board with them. I have been here almost a year after buying a new DPMS LR308 Oracle rifle and read the manual (I am new to the platform) I am an old retired gunsmith on Hunting rifles, wheel guns and 1911sM1 Garand, M14 M1A, M60, and even an Ruger Mini 14 owner. I knew Nothing, Nada, Zero about the 308 Ar, Ar15 or AR 10 now I am starting to learn, reading helps but mano to mano cuts thru the fog.

That looks really neat and good!
  19. I hope Chaser had as good a day as the good ones I have had when I spent days and nights when my kids and grandkids came into the world. His loved one went in for a C-section today.
  20. here is a staking tool from Midway for around $30. You will still need a Dremel 1/8" ball cutter (I used a dental burr) a small close fitting drill bit to closely fit inside the tube, and some red loctite. I rednecked a tool back in the 70 when I worked on these old 1911 pistols, I used a steel BB epoxyed to the jaw of a big set of Visegrips, held it over an anvil and smacked it with a hammer, didn't have loctite, used a piece of drill rod inside the tube but it worked but it was kind of a snakey gilfkk operation.
