  1. Was waiting on some 40 rds. for sighting and plinking. I received an empty package last night. Taped well, walls of box intact, invoice included, packing material, and no ammo. 2 boxes, 40 rds. gone. Called UPS and started an investigation, called TargetSports and sent email with pictures of empty box. Am waiting on 40 rds. once again. I hate a thief, I dislike ineptitude, and all in all one big waste of time. I guess it's time to bulk up and order a couple of thousand rounds.I was waiting to see if 168s were better than 175s for my rifle. I may as well get both.
  2. Horrible. I never knew we had some armed protector already on scene.
  3. Nobody knows how to put the tiger back in the cage. We might as well keep it well fed.
  4. moratorium, schmoratorium.
  5. My Dad was there, my uncle as well, my brother in law's Dad drove a landing craft. My wife's boss was there, a small fragile man, with a tiger hidden deep in his soul. I'm crying again, a small weep actually, teary eyed as I often get remembering. Frank Murray got hit in the Ardennes, a sweeter man you couldn't find. Your Dad was there, or your grandfather or perhaps a couple of uncles. The guy down the block from me was there. The gin mill I was raised in was full of these men singing songs together after a few 5 cent beers. Regular guys who did incredible tasks. Next time you are at the beach or a picnic look around you and know all of you folks are capable of greatness, we are the progeny of greatness. God Bless the WWII vets, both here and above. God Bless America.
  6. Oh well I forgot my moratorium on spending new money until July 4th. " Yes Honey it is a new trigger, but it was on backorder, and took a long time to manufacture. They can't charge me until they actually have the product on hand. That's why the date is 6/6/19." 😎
  7. In for one more, just ordered.
  8. I see a carry handle with a A2 rear sight cut in, and followed with a magnifier perhaps.
  9. That's hot _________ stuff.
  10. I'll do a year with them. Of course I'll bet I get stationed with a group of wonderful spud faced beauties.
  11. Don't have any, but that 458 round looks interesting... moratorium--moratorium--moratorium
  12. Thank you all, it's comforting knowing I'm not alone. According to the Mrs. I'm the only one who buys and then not use it immediately. Bought a surplus rifle because I had some 8mm laying around.
  13. Me need that and ...Moratorium until July 4th, no spending until then and this ad hurts my resolve.
  14. I went on a spending blitz since my interest in the 308 woke up again. I bought an upper, and a lower. Got in under $700, good to go, right? No. Ammo for the first hundred break in period was next. Might as well buy some match ammo as well. Let's go to the range. No. Heard about gassing, recoil and some other challenges, solve problem beforehand, right? 1095 spring, buffer of correct weight and some spare ejector and other springs, cryo treated of course. Well I'm buying and my desire is growing and I may as well save some money and reload. Oh boy. 1lb. powder, well if I buy 8#'s I'll save even more. Dang, even brass is costly. Who cares I'm on a roll. Bullets, 168's for sure. Do I have 308 dies, well let's check. 45 acp dies, 45 Colt, oh I have 2- 45 Colt sets how the heck did that happen? 223 rifle dies, all never opened. Lee classic turret kit, opened never used, found it behind three MEC machines. Where are those primers I bought? Here they are, where's the box cutter I haven't opened this box yet. 1000 shotshell primers W209, nope no LR. Not a one to be found. I see no sights either, hmm what to do. Holosun 510C unopened in box, bought 6/18/2018. 6.8 spc dies sitting next to 30-06 Lapua brass and Hornady large box of Cowboy 255 g. 45 bullets. Never opened. Still two cabinets I haven't opened, Lord knows what's in there. I'm sitting on the sidelines until July 4th before spending more money. Well er maybe. Nope no new money being spent. No disposable income toward this new interest. What about old money, selling some stuff and using that? Damn this 308 fever has a mind of its own. My wife, the bookkeeper, is on to me. I got the " What this charge...and what is this one for?" She really was a bookkeeper and that's both a curse and a blessing. With all the stories and explanations I come up with, her answer is always precipitated with " Numbers don't lie." Is there any unopened stuff in your gun cabinet? I can't be the only one
  15. "I have to keep moving or I am afraid I will just rust up and stop...." ^^^ You get a big Amen from the choir there Magwa!
  16. Just having some fun, actually having some less expensive fun. It can get pretty costly hanging around this place. My view of those chicken pictures has me a bit delirious.
  17. Now satisfied that her true stash had not been discovered she allowed her eyes to open big and bright. She hated that dullard look she learned from Gran mamon, the mystic that Leader Dude employed. She knew this was her time, perhaps a little premature, but necessary. She was a threat, just as her mother and father had been. The smile spread across her face and her pace fastened. Even Bigboy held his head higher and perked up his ears. The team was getting in gear, moving away from an ugly past and toward some future, but what ? Grand Mamon had saved the child... et vous?
  18. Lots and lots of out of stock. I did speak with a rep recently and he suggested the following thought. They got dependent on outside contractors and are in the process of becoming in house once again.. I cheer that thought. I'm tired of hearing the case of "...it's cheaper to buy from elsewhere and assemble it here.", for the simple reason that you become dependent on too many variables. Big man Mr. A and runner up Mr. B use ABC machining for part 1. Mr. A sees Mr. B quickly growing, and feeling threatened insists that he receive better care than Mr. B. ABC machining now becomes a player in the enterprise. I don't mean to be obscure I just don't want to name names. We see it in the news today with certain ammo manufacturers. We seen it in the gun makers realm as well. We're inviting foreign entities to dictate our production capabilities. I call BS at this point. When have we been held hostage in the world of production? I never really cared for the slogan Make America Great Again. We're already great and have been since inception. I like our attitude. In any event I'm upping my ante in the 308 class with a bolt gun. I will begin by looking at Armalite and their in house production. I realized I stood up on the soap box for a moment, it's easy do when you come from here.
  19. WOW, I've enjoyed this information. Thanks folks. HEB?? Randalls?? Chain stores I assume in Texas. I will not support any infringement of 2nd amendment, including my interpretation of the 2nd Amendment. As to the Lee products, I've just now gathered my Lee Classic Turret press out of the inner sanctum. It has been sitting there for so long the dust has dust, the auto prime box has yellowed tape that has never been opened. Say plane flyer I noticed the teacher note in your post, where's the best place to learn re-loading? Or should I grunt my way through the process with use of books.
  20. ...crushed and defiant she led out of the encampment alone, swearing to never return.
  21. Very cool, thanks for the reply
  22. Welcome from Fla. Glad you made it.
  23. Arizona desert 2149, the solar storms have been gone for fifty odd years. The few survivors have emerged from their shelters and can once again forage for sustenance. Most all structures have toppled into piles of rubble and become treasure coves for the remaining humans. A small child comes to the group gleefully offering her find. A can of Sweet Sue's canned chicken. The leader smiles and praises her find. Once he accepts the treasure, he turns to the man in charge of supply and says, " throw this crap out, I hear it hurt someone from the old 308ar gang. It'll kill ya."
  24. Terrific job Maximus, great question for the forum. Why the non locking on last round.
  25. I get woozy thinking about it? Pay my mortgage and I'll eat it. Yep, I'm a whore with a number. Where can I buy this thing? ...and you get to prep it? hmm OMG Amazon sells it and creamed possum as well. Dang!
