Actually brought a tear to my eye laughing at this! A true gem!

😲 Great pictures, as always. And I'll second the thanks for sharing! There's nothing like hearing them in person (even tho I always bring hearing protection!), you don't just hear it, you feel it!

I'm in the southern lower. Can't find it right now, but I got one pic with a female and like a dozen ducklings paddling along, not sure if a combined brood, but there was only 1 adult female on the pic series the camera snapped.

Beautiful pics. They raise broods on the creek in my backyard every year, I need to check, should be out there now. Got some pretty good claws on those webbed feet for gripping trees.

Ken Block is (was) not normal! One of my fav Ken Block clips...gotta believe Matt LeBlanc shat himself despite trying to act calm. I know I would have!

Truly awesome...great pics...thanks for sharing! Edit to add, I was at the Willow Run airshow a couple years ago and the Thunderbirds did the distraction passes and maneuvers to set up the crowd's attention followed by the low and come from behind flyover pass flipping on the afterburners. Takes you by such surprise and rattles your spine! Oshkosh is certainly the Mecca of airshows.

I'm all too familiar with those iceholes!

Armor All'ed a motorcycle seat once. Thankfully did not get moving before I realized the potential disaster. Couldn't even sit on the thing and didn't even start the bike, thank goodness.

Nice Ford. Has sure held up well for the past 40-50 years! Michigan winter salt is not so kind here.

Remembrance Day for our northern border friends. And a solemn thank you to all our veterans, here in the USA and overseas.

Not a huge chip fan, but I really like the ketchup chips! And my wife and her Canadian friends never hesitate to tell me how great Smarties are compared to the chalky tablets sold here in the States. My brother-in-law lived in Nanaimo and in Victoria for several years, so I never heard it said other than Na-Nye-Mo. But, after you mentioned it, I can see how many would stumble over the pronunciation.

Good dog! CWD is beyond awful. My sister in law had a family friend pass from Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease (CJD), no treatment or cure. The power of a dog's nose is unbelievable. This is another recent testament to it... https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/health/2022/06/03/study-dogs-better-detecting-covid-pcr-tests/7496344001/

No better soundtrack for that one! Wow...

David Bowie just left us too soon. Really looking forward to the movie this Sept. Bowie's set at Live Aid (1985) was epic. As was most of the concert.

Yikes...I don't want to think how bad my mileage is! It's likely worse than my truck, ha! I've got a thirsty engine.

Blue cat? I don't see any spots. Used to fish for channel cats like your set up.

Self defense law typically requires the threat to be imminent. So, there may be a disagreement over what is imminent here. I know of an instance where someone leaves (obviating the imminent part, as they are no longer in immediate danger) and then returns with a weapon. Use of such weapon has been found not to be self defense in an example I know of. Not aware of an instance where someone returns to the former threat and it was held that self defense still applies, but that does not mean it has not happened. The law and reality are often two separate things. If the eventual shooter was pursued inside, I would say the threat remained imminent. Like your Glock 43x example, the threat remained imminent and if there was a reasonable fear of great bodily harm or death, then self defense would appear to apply. An imperfect situation that will be handled by an imperfect system. Note that in some jurisdictions, self defense only applies where there is no reasonable opportunity to withdraw. That is you have a duty to retreat if possible. (FYI, example I know of is where person argued with parking lot attendant, left to their vehicle and returned with gun, argued again with attendant, then when allegedly threatened, shot the attendant. Shooter is in jail and self-defense did not apply.)

The shooter did not call LEO. And he came back looking for a fight, making the shooter the aggressor (based solely on the video). If you leave and come back with a firearm, can any observer think you have not escalated the situation and become the aggressor? It's 2 am here. Am only online cause its Thanksgiving and I'm post several barley pops, so yeah, who knows what I'm saying! Anyhoo, yes, I'm still of the opinion that the shooter should be in prison. He got exactly what he intended and was looking for, to kill some one. Now, had the teal shirt guy jumped on the shooter (before he left and came back with a gun) and the shooter shot the teal shirt guy, I'd think very differently. Please, this is based solely on the video.

Exactly. There would have been day when someone could have punched someone in the mouth. And that would have been the end of it! Everyone loses here.

98 you are indeed one of the reasons I'm on this forum. An utter wealth of knowledge and one the the best m'fers on this forum. I'm betting there's a ton of semi lurkers like I am, and we look to you for more technical knowledge than anyone will find anywhere else. But, this kid should go to prison in my state, imo. He did not call law enforcement and came back looking for a fight, which he got and provoked. The shooter knew exactly what he was looking for.
