"In the neck" The neck for us, was the Fulda gap's code name. It's where the Russians were expected to invade Germany when I was stationed there in the 70's. It's a major choke point where the tanks were expected to cross the border. "In the throat" was a position on the Czechoslovakian border, which was our main objective. Those that were "In the neck" had a 3 minute life expectancy if the shite ever hit the fan. Now, for me, "In the neck" is where I aim while doing pistol drills. :)
