  1. I agree to an extent. I think if I got in a shooting someone would end up noticing.
  2. @308kiwi if you came to America, you could probably get a nice cushy job in the firearm industry. Maybe Rob will hire you for his crazy projects. lol.
  3. well that escalated quickly. lol.
  4. democrats sabotaged them!
  5. my wife would of been excited and pissed if I passed it up. lol.
  6. good to know. Sadly I don't think my uptight agency would let me use them.
  7. I could see you with a spreadsheet of all the things you want and their prices. Then you just check the sales every day. lol
  8. lmao. what an idiot... I'm only half an idiot. haha
  9. I'm pretty sure myself and those I work with are the crazies. haha
  10. think this might be more of a conversation piece. lol

  12. so you think they are better than the Glock brand ones?
  13. how are those Magpul glock mags? I hate glock mags, the last couple of rounds are a pain in the fingers. So many people talk about the reliability of them, but I have never had an issue with other gun mags that are easy to load to the last round.
  14. What caliber would you get it in Rob?
  15. lol. yeah I might have over exaggerated. I was just trying to do a comparison that shows wear can lead to failure... guess I shouldn't have used on that would lead to death. haha. Ok, try again... if the tread on your tires is getting low and showing wear, you might be able to drive hundreds or even thousands of miles on it. but there is also the chance you could get a flat tire easier. Better comparison? lol.
  16. Perception or not, my wife loved them. haha
  17. Rob, make me some GI Joe armor with the abs so I can pretend I still have them.
  18. On a separate note... we need a better spelling/grammar checker so I look like an idiot less. lol. #advise.vs.advice
  19. yes, and the ar15 is alive and well with several benefits over the g36 chassis. a polymer channel seems to be the issue according to the article. I am not sure what polymer channel they are talking about, but my ARs sure don't have one. got to love some decent aluminum. also, when I was in the army my unit trained more than the average unit. when we deployed, we got to country and the armorer finally checked our barrels. not one barrel in our platoon could a barrel gauge be dropped through, yet we could all hit targets at 600 meters. Part of me thinks it is poor training for the majority of the Germans, but also poor upkeep due to not enough funding. I don't think the G36 is a bad weapon, I just believe an AR has benefits over it.
  20. haha fair enough. it does look cool. I just like to have something against my shoulder to help stabilize, I would put a stock on it if I could
  21. The G36 is out of date. there are better rifles out there that are more compact, lighter, use standard mags that are interchangeable between platforms, have better choice for mounting optics, and less expensive. a standard military m4 would be better. The gas piston system of the G36 is nice but gas impingement has done well in many wars in all types of environments. The platform was good in its day but has never been above and beyond anything. Why else would H&K stray so far from the design with more of an ar15 style with its 416? As for the video games, they have always made it overpowered because it looked cool. 5.56 nato is still 5.56 nato no matter what platform it comes from, video games don't usually show this.
  22. Think this is the best advise on the thread so far for the average builder. Still glad this topic came up and was discussed. @Alan Waters you may have been off on some of your statements but that's ok as long as you learned some things. I for one learned a lot through the discussion. Thanks for bringing the subject up.
  23. but... but... why? lol.
  24. visual should always be a sign of wear. if you are a climber, just because you do a test pull on your rope and that pull shows it has plenty of strength to hold you, doesn't mean you should climb with the rope if it is starting to visually fray.
  25. in the military there were times when I would run a few thousand rounds through my m4 in a day without it being cleaned or lubed. but survivalshop has a good point, and I sure as heck wasn't buying parts for my military rifle. I can't afford to shoot the amounts I shot while I was in the military so don't have those worries. plus I find cleaning my weapons to be relaxing.
