  1. Gas port is now .081 I'll see how that works tomorrow. Scope and mount showed up and are installed.
  2. .0660 drill bit fits w/a little wiggle. .0690 bit won't go in @98Z5V
  3. Nice rifle.
  4. There was plenty of lube. This is a new caliber for Wilson Combat barrels. They don't always get gas ports right on new products. It might just be not broken in yet. The gas block may not be sealed up yet. I am still in the discovery phase of why it isn't running 100%.
  5. I am probably going to add a longer muzzle break to one of my 308 pistols and turn it into a rifle. Just don't see the need (I know need has nothing to do with it) for 2 308 pistols. If the brace thing gets stupid I might have to do a few more pistols that way.
  6. SRV for the win.
  7. It's for playing long range in Az in the fall. It also matches the 6Arc pistol I already built. I've got a hayfield that is about 450 yds long so I might use it on deer in the fall.
  8. I ordered numbered bits . They should be here Thursday. I'll know then what size it is
  9. That would be cool.
  10. That will most likely be pinned. If the rifle functions now there is no need for an adjustable gas block.
  11. It's mid length. I'll shoot it some more and see if it's the gas block sealing up. If needed I'll open it up a bit at a time or drill it out big and use an adjustable gas block. The gun runs 95% on the eld match. Just not well on the black. The black and match are almost the same velocity's.
  12. Got out this afternoon. Robbed a scope off another rifle. The Hornady black doesn't lock back on an empty mag. Locking on the BCG not the bolt. The Hornady Match does most of the time. I only ran 35 rnds through it. Gas block may not be sealed up yet or I might have to open the gas port up a bit. I didn't measure it before assembly. Getting velocity's in the 2630 range out of both loads. Very windy today. Wind was actually blowing my targets around so the groups sucked.

  14. Welcome from KY. Lube that puppy up. Probably need to open the gas port as 98Z suggested.
  15. Ok how about pics w/o the upper . One with Magpul and one w/ lancer from above so we can see what you have going on.
  16. I was looking for Varget powder. Found a few places that had it in stock at decent prices but wouldn't take a credit card. Probably a scam. So I'm still looking for Varget.
  17. Does it lock back on an empty mag every time? If it does sometimes but not others that's you gas/recoil system more than the bolt catch. A lot of folks have the same problem with the JP recoil set up on the large frame Ar's. That's race gun parts not battle rifle parts. Armalite designed these things. Their recoil system works. Lancers are top shelf mags.
  18. Nice
  19. Toolcraft BCG's are good to go.
  20. If you want to keep the front sight you need a fore end the same length as you have now. If the front sight isn't required put a shorter gas block on it and use whatever rail you want. You do need to figure out what hight your upper receiver is so the rail is even w/the upper receiver.
  21. I put a Sylvan arms folder on one of my 308 pistols. It works just fine for me.
  22. Yep one more car payment here and the jeep is paid off. More money for other stuff.
