You could live dangerous and do it without any extras handy or proper tools (Allen wrench works pretty well). I cheated cause my cat attacks anything that lands on the floor so I just go to wherever he ran to and there it is.

I did a long slide conversion on a G21. Didn’t like it. It felt all out of balance. Shot good though. I also did some modification to the frame and stippling. It was a good experience but I’ll not do another the same way. Here are a.couple of pics and a comparison to my other G21.

I was gonna eat the chunk left but it was nothing but stringy red fibers. The chickens liked it though. I damm near missed it. Wife was video shooter and I was too concerned about trying to see where the brass went. Sounds louder on the vid than in person.

Water jug and watermelon - embarrassed almost missed the melon. Even so there wasn’t much left of the innerds just the shell and some red goo. Not as impressive as I had hoped but I think it’ll do what I wanted. IMG_0613.MOV

Electrical tape good for so many things!

The large frame ar is unlike its smaller kin. These things need lots of lube during break in. If you think it’s lubed enough lube it some more. If you don’t get some spatter on you when you shoot it probably wasn’t lubed enough. Think dripping wet. Even with that sometimes they take a while to break in. Not like the ar15 that sounds like crap when dry but will still run.

Did you actually measure the gas port ? I’d measure it to make sure the spec sheet speaks the truth. When you ordered it did they know you wanted to shoot subsonic loads? Did you tell them you were going to run suppressed? Subs produce enough press to barely poop out the bullet. The typical supersonic port doesn’t allow enough gas to cycle the action with subsonic Loads. Suppressor helps by allowing what gas is there to remain a little longer but it still may not be a large enough pulse. Since it cycles with supersonic loads tells you that the mechanics are working.
