    I have always liked the idea of a collet-style non-threaded attachment. I've never seen one implemented though, I'm tempted to make an empty or fake can that implements the mounting system just for testing purposes.

    We really need a "raining on my parade" smiley around here... ;) ... but I agree with you. I would only use them through a chrome lined barrel in a rifle not intended for distance engagements, underwater in a ghost town. :banana:
