  1. That's a point-cut rifling machine, it's far more time intensive than button rifling but yields a better quality barrel. The paint scheme isn't that bad, at least to me.
  2. Welcome to the asylum Dawn!! Finally someone will be bringing this place some class..... :D
  3. Ah good, you've found your inner jew, or as I call it, the"308AR.com bankruptcy dive brake".
  4. My thoughts on this: An adjustable gas block is fantastic, as long as your handguard will accommodate it. Having to replace your FFHG to accommodate your adjustable gas block to fix overgassing comes out to be a lot more expensive than just dropping in a heavier buffer and appropriate spring. I'm not trying to talk you out of buying an adjustable gas block, but the decision to buy a heavy buffer has a lot of merit, for many more reasons than even what I've just mentioned.
  5. LOL In picture 3, I can't quite tell, is it: A shadow... A black belt... OR... MASSIVE TACTIGUT!!!! Whatever it is, Tom is rockin' it! Just sayin' Tom! :hail: :hornet:
  6. Keep an eye on your six brother, we'll have you in our thoughts and prayers for your safe return.

  19. That's high praise, but we are in good company. Madhouse, Microgunner, DNP, and a whole host of others were here making this place great long before I arrived. Drew made a really good point one time that helped me decide I really wanted to be part of this community. I'm paraphrasing here, but he effectively said "Egos will have to be checked at the door to be a member here. We all come to this site to enjoy ourselves and share a common interest, anyone who can't understand that doesn't belong here." That's when I knew this place was going to be around for the long haul, and I've enjoyed it thoroughly ever since. I respect all the staff and senior members without exception, and I'm proud to be a contributing member. I have yet to find an online firearm-themed forum that can even mildly compare to the ones that Drew runs.
  20. That's what I use. Hard to beat in terms of usefulness vs. cost.
  21. I'm almost scared to say this, but I really like that rifle! That's pretty sweet. :auto:
  22. You're GTG, my stake isn't with what points are being made, that's part of the conversation. My duty is to the tone of the conversation and making sure that this forum stays a place we all like to visit. So far so good in that respect. <thumbsup> Also, I happen to agree completely with the point you're making. I'm just not in the "you should never speak to the police under any circumstances" camp. If I were an eyewitness to a crime, that attitude could severely impede the success of the resulting investigation. So again, a balance has to be found, as with everything. ;)
  23. #657 Wear it out!
  24. You're more correct than you may know... My pistol stable now contains four handguns and I rarely get to take them out and exercise them... :( As for the hand grenades, I definitely would like to spend some quality time with a crate full in a junkyard!
  25. My name is Matt Cross, and I approved this message. :D
