  1. I don't want to give the impression that I'm just argumentive, I find your point of view to be very agreeable. I place a very high value upon my own life, but I have found that my life is much easier to protect with a weapon that I can afford to personally own. In my way of seeing it, there was a possibility he was trying to say the gun was too expensive for himself without bashing the cost of the weapon or the weapon in general. Now, I won't presume that soofley was trying to say nicely that he couldn't afford it, but I didn't rule it out as a possibility, and chose to play the devil's advocate a little bit. It is my opinion (and only that) that the best weapon to defend yourself with is the best one that you can afford. If it is too expensive, it's too expensive regardless of whether or not your personal taste is to blame. Just my .02 though. :)
  2. I try to assess the quality of it's construction, it's fit to my intended purpose and shooting style, and ultimately know beforehand it's reliability based on everyday use assessments by qualified professionals. Brand is not terribly relevant as long as it is a reputable brand and has a name for themselves in customer service.
  3. It's hard to say definitively whether you could or couldn't. You could probably attain that weight with extreme weight cutting measures, but you might not get reliable function out of it.
  4. No, I was more or less referring to the "Tier 1 Operator" that graces the covers and wallpapers for the new Medal of Honor series... only this is better somehow, because it's not pretentious.
  5. Nice! I expected a four letter word followed by a three letter word. Good luck on your fishing trip!

    Godless heatherns.... <laughs> <lmao> ;)
  7. I think the price of a reliable, well-built weapon is a worthwhile investment, but what you can afford is a first concern when you are deciding what weapon you want your life to depend on. As much as I respect reputation, it isn't the same as reliability. Reliability is a proportional quality for individual weapons, not brands or products. If your Kimber jams in the middle of a firefight and you get shot with a Hi-Point, reputation didn't get you killed, reliability did. With that said, I'm not staking my life on whether or not my gun is a reputable brand, I'll stake it on the hundreds or thousands of rounds that have proved the reliability of my weapon of choice.
  8. No kidding. Being retarded is a problem noone asks for, political office is quite the opposite.
  9. They fixed the picture anyways, it still has a battery spec, lumen rating & such in the "Details" section by the price.
  10. 5 Weeks to the halfway mark! You're in the "video game wallpaper" phase it appears...
  11. I remember when muzzle flash only lasted for the duration of your shot.... <laughs>
  12. LOL That needs to be a bumper sticker! It's sig-worthy material for sure....
  13. 1 year and 3 months so far for my Lothar Walther.
  14. Hate to hear that brother, I'm in pretty much the same boat right now. Hope all goes well for you and everything rebounds quickly. Being outta work just plain sucks.
  15. I threw up a little bit on that one... :o
  16. Drew, your sweetheart should be the one person in this world you can trust to tell that you wear a thong. Geez! <laughs> <lmao>
  17. Glad I'm not the only one who notices this type of thing. I find it pretty interesting that the definition of a sniper predates the military sniper context, and yet a choice few military types have a monopoly on it somehow... No disrespect intended to our members who serve or have served, you guys know I appreciate and respect you.
  18. No doubt! Currently all I have is a knockoff of a Stratocaster, I need an amp for it.
  19. I'm very much into both! I play guitar, bass guitar, piano and organ as well. I'm trying to get a buddy to teach me how to play drums too. You have some nice guitars brother, nothing cheap about that Martin....
  20. Yeah, I'm not drinking the BATFE bad-guy cool-aid. Seems to me like they aren't any more or less justified than any other government law enforcement division.
  21. Holy moly! My eyeballs are still spinning....
  22. It's the stainless steel barrel. Top notch barrel, I love it!

Reminds me of the gentleman from India who stayed with us when we were little. We went to the Grocery Store, and he was amazed that we had powdered milk, powdered orange juice, powdered lemonade, etc... When we got to the baby powder he freaked out....
