  1. I sold it because I was offered a substantially more than my initial investment in it. I highly regretted it all the same and bought it back at my first chance.
  2. Are these DPMS/SR25 type compatible or are they just for smaller frame ARs? I'm not savvy to the differences between the charging handles on large vs. small frame ARs.
  3. The prodigal son has returned home! He will not be leaving again, ever. I'm mighty happy to have him back! ;D
  4. Yes it has been, welcome back!
  5. You're definitely right about that. That's what happens when you chunk the manual and say "How hard can it be?". To anyone who might be coming back to read these old threads, do yourself a favor and prelube your threads, it'll make your life easier.
  6. Off Topic: jeffreyC, your sig line is awesome! On Topic: As you were!
  7. I only wish I had thought of it first. That's friggin hilarious!
  8. Holy moly! I can just see Robo pulling someone over now... "Sir, do you have any idea of why I let you gain 12 miles on me?" <laughs>
  9. Get a bad batch of bath salts? :cookoo:  <laughs> <munch>
  10. It sucks for sure, but I'm starting to get back on my feet. Hopefully I'll have some more pics and video shooting with my new suppressor here pretty soon.
  11. Fixed. Fixed.
  12. Wow! That is one nice piece! I'm a sucker for a 1911 to begin with, but that right there takes the cake.
  13. The collar is what I'm assuming you're referring to, the primary host barrel will have the taper built in, and the second barrel will be set up by ADCO. You are definitely right about them not sending the collar though, I have yet to contact Ops Inc about it though because hard times have set back the project for a bit.
  14. Definitely agree with this. A quality barrel in combination with good barrel/receiver fitment is the foundation of an accurate AR in my opinion. A really good trigger is invaluable too.
  15. Welcome to the forums! Keep us posted on your progress, sounds like an interesting project is in the works.
  16. Nothing to apologize for in that... We all have different personalities and preferences, it would get boring really really quickly if everybody's was exactly alike. Can't wait to see some pics!
  17. Leviathan and Juggernaut would be my picks. To be honest, Juggernaut is the one I like best so far.
  18. Correct you are, sir! Happy Father's Day to all the dads here!
  19. Good decision Robo, be sure to post pics and video of said OBR in action. <munch>
  20. Glad to help. The rule is that pics must be posted once modifications have been made, looking forward to seeing it!
  21. Trying to understand what you mean, are you saying that when you back the outer receiver nut off to the alignment position, you can't get the inner barrel retainer nut tight enough? Or is that what you're trying to determine? I installed one of these on a build some time ago, and I had to back the receiver nut off a little bit to get correct alignment, but it didn't keep me from getting the correct torque spec on the barrel nut. (You can read the thread here: http://308ar.com/forum/dpms-lr-308-general-technical-discussion/installing-the-jp-vtac-fft-aka-'how-bibliophobia-can-make-your-life-exciting!'/msg2218/#msg2218) All I did was use a small rod to maintain alignment of the gas tube holes while I torqued the barrel nut.
  22. Looks like your project is really coming along! Hope it's not as hot there as it has been here, working in the heat sucks.
  23. I like to make fun of Hi-Point, but I don't doubt a bit that people have had good experiences with them. I like just about anything that goes boom, but when it comes to a weapon that will be drawn to save my own life or that of a loved one, I hope beyond hope that the weapon I draw is not a Hi-Point.
  24. Hi-Point Firearm of choice for retired police chiefs the world wide. What's that you say? Read it for yourself! http://www.hi-pointfirearms.com/handguns/handguns_45acp.html <laughs> <lmao>
