When I'm not wearing my Ariat boots, I really like wearing Merrell's. For LE/duty use, I have been debated about going to something similar. I have been wearing 5.11 ATAC 6" boots for years, and only recently decided to going to something a little "less" uniform for the comfort. (**Just for 98Z.... The new style is approved uniform... I know how you worry about me.) These are my current options: Reebok 5" Dauntless Salomon XA Pro 3D Mid GTX Forces 5.11 XPRT 2.0 Tactical I'm honestly leaning towards the Salomon right now. Longer track record for good boots, and better online reviews. Anyone else have any opinions or suggestions?

They never "merged". The deal fell through. They are still very separate companies. SI-D is putting out a much more advanced billet setup than Nemo. Both companies are focused towards the hunting and long distance shooters. Neither makes a really good "run-n-gun" or combat piece.

What ever happened to that fucker? He built that behemoth, air/water cooled, super-weighted front end, flipped his lid when his head got too big (forgot where he came from and who helped him get there), then burnt the fuck outta every bridge as he got laughed off every other forum. I think he lost his azz on that project.

A gas block is a gas block. As long as the diameter fits, it'll do its job. AR15, AR10A, AR10B, LR308, SR25, LAR8, even the GenII, They all use the same gas block.

Well since we already had a "Black Rifle" section where we talked about our smaller AR's, I felt the aptly named "Red [Army] Rifle" section was perfect for talks regarding rifles from the opposite side of the iron curtain.
