  1. Heya Rog, any idea when Brownells is going to carry these... If at all.
  2. Not all mag releases are created equal. I really suggest the Armalite AR10A mag release for all .308 rifles... except those RRA bastards. Those guys are on their own.
  3. Coming from the man who is no stranger to recovery
  4. I'm waiting on Brownells to get on board. I have a bunch of gift cards waiting for a big order. I'd appreciate if Brownells would catch up on my back orders as well.
  5. M2, I'll call you tomorrow.
  6. I have a CF barrel on my .308 AR. As light as it is, it still isn't as light as a "lightweight" contour barrel. My rifle is damn near a Bull contour (.875 at the gasblock), and weighs the equivalent to maybe an HBAR/Medium type contour. So I can claim Bull barrel accuracy and performance for a combat barrel weight. That was my intention. If you are expecting a super light barrel to make the lightest weight rifle possible, a CF barrel wouldn't be the best choice.
  7. Now you need the TACCOM +5 floor plate. No reason to stop at 40, when you can have 45!!!
  8. Only tree squirrels are good eatin. The little ground rats we shoot are garbage. We leave them for the birds... or to bait the coyotes. As for builds.... These are something of what I had in mind. They aren't "exact" but you get a good idea of what I'm thinking about. They're very similar, just changing barrels and internals. .22lr Taccom 3G .17 HMR Alexander Arms
  9. If I do the .22lr build, I imagine the build will be ~5 lbs. I've seen them as light as 3.8 lbs, but they are strictly .22lr shooters. I'd like to keep it semi-tactical, and able to quickly convert back to a center fire rifle with just an upper swap. I'm waiting for MAG tactical to release their Mg upper receivers. Then I'll likely add the new MI Gen2 keymod, or the BCM keymod if it gets released. I figure that the parts I want/like will add an overall 1.5 lbs to the rifle. I use gunstruction to mock up a basic idea of what I wanted.
  10. So what you're saying is, you're willing to take orders for cerakote, right? Lol, great lookin stuff.
  11. I think the LWRCi uses a piston.
  12. My design wouldn't be the "lightest". It's more of a "cut weight where you can afford it, and keep the weight you want"
  13. First off, MAG Tactical advised that they have a magnesium lower receiver in the works for early next year. Next, I'd pair that up with a slab side DPMS upper. To get extra light I'd suggest the JP LMOS BCG. Although a full size BCG isn't going to break anyone's back. Phase 3 would be a Fulton Armory 16" lightweight barrel with a low profile gas block (adjustable if you have the LMOS). With a BABC on the end... of course! Personally I'd wrap the barrel in either the new Midwest Ind Gen2 SS tube or an APEX "Gator" tube (sans top rail). All depends on budget. Furniture from there should be user friendly. I think the Magpul MOE+ is awesome, and an ACS-L to match would be nice. A single stage trigger, no sights, fixed 4 scope, heavy buffer, short throw BAD-ASS and a padded VTAC sling would finish it off for me.
  14. Honestly, if Taccom made the .17 this would be a no brainer for me.
  15. You know you got the FDE-chubby with that pic! As soon as I saw that rifle I thought, "just wait til 98 sees this."
  16. Very nice! I carry a PPK/S .380 about 99% of the time. Always wanted to grab a matching .22lr
  17. Hey Roger, did Tom-ass bring his sign with him???
  18. So for Christmas I've been slowly working on a new build for my wife. She's constantly on me about why she doesn't have her own rifle and I have... well, I have mine. So I'm working on a plinker/light hunter. She like shooting squirrels with me. She's also very petite, so weight can turn into an issue. The first build I was looking at is a .22lr, using the barrel and BCG from Taccom3G. It'd be super lightweight and inexpensive to shoot. It's also fairly affordable to build. The second option was the .17 HMR build from Alexander Arms. You get a lot more bang out of a rim fire. Practically quadruple your effective range. I'd gain a bit more weight, but quite a bit more performance. The ammo isn't atrociously expensive or rare either. Pros and cons for both. A lot of my decision will be based on a return email from Alexander Arms. What do you guys think? Opinions? Experience?
  19. I hate close calls. Especially unseen ones. Glad to have you back. Now the important question... what did you pick up at the Gun Show?
  20. Hickock45 did it with a DE .50 I'm just sayin
  21. That issue is solved. I'll call USMCbassman today and see if we can get this ball rolling.
  22. Tom opened three new credit accounts in preparation on meeting Roger. He was going to sell his hair for some extra $$, but white spots are out this season. LOL! Fcuk yeah I went there. It sucks that I'm only 5 hours away from LV right now.
  23. So, I've been checking up on pistol laws here. It looks like there is a "Sig P220 Combat fde/stainless" allowed for sale here. The issue is the threaded barrel. Fuckstein and her cronies think Snoop Dogg and the rest of his gang are going to buy $1k suppressors and do silent drive by's in South Central L.A. Let's not get ahead of ourselves on this. USMCbassman needs to find out if his FFL can transfer this pistol even without the threaded barrel. If it's possible, the entire pistol must be paid for before we can ask MicroGunner to do any modifications to a perfectly good barrel.
  24. Let's make sure he can buy it first. I didn't realize he was a Cali resident. We have funny laws about pistols. @USMCbassman I'll call you this weekend.
