  1. That'd a pretty sweet gift
  2. Mine will be here in a few days! I may have ordered more than one.
  3. Rainier is ridiculous fast shipping (for me). They just don't cater to the dealer/le/mil crowd as well as Brownells, or some of the others.
  4. I feel lots of things... guilt isn't one of them. Some say they live without regret... I say those people never got shyt faced on Wild Turkey and banged a fat ugly chick.
  5. Lol, ditto I'm putting my order in now. These damn pins are going to cost me $400.
  6. I always have pork added to my sausages.
  7. Lol, no. just a similar story about hanging out after the show. Satriani was a very cool guy. A local guitar instructor brought his 12 yo student to the concert. Satriani sat down with the kid after the show and they jammed together in the empty concert hall. I got to hang aaround for the show.
  8. When I was a kid, right out of high school, I worked at a concert hall. I got a chance to see BB King play live with his daughter. James Hetfeild (Metallica) was there to watch the show too. After the show was over, and I closed down the place, I stopped off at a local 24hr diner for a coffee before my drive home. While I was there BB King and his entourage walked in. One of them recognized me and they invited me to sit with them and listen to Kings old stories. I loved working there as a kid. Great stories. I have a similar one about Joe Satriani.
  9. I love the Turnbull Ar's. I'd love to put a case hardened receiver set together as a NM build.
  10. To the best of my knowledge, the entire Armalite LPK is fully compatible with all builds. (Especially the AR-10A kit. That particular kit has the modified magazine catch, designed for ALL magazines.) The only parts that are proprietary are the bolt, barrel extention and barrel nut.
  11. Option A: Upgrade to the Phase5 bolt catch. I use this one on a SI-D .308 Option B: Upgrade to an Armalite bolt catch. It's a little less expensive than Op. A but still A+ quality. Both options include getting rid of the CMMG part. Don't even bother trying to salvage the part. CMMG parts aren't usually worth the effort you need to put into them. I'm not trying to be a dick, but 2/3 of the problems I read about here start with, "I installed a CMMG 《insert part here》and now my rifle doesn't work."
  12. I thought that too. I know they have special barrels that you can only get with the R-25. I thought it was just the profile that was special... Remington wanted to get as far away as possible from the "combat rifle" stigma. Maybe making their rifles unable to use mil 7.62 ammo was part of that. All that aside, I'm still a big fan of the R-25 as a hunting rifle.
  13. Another AZ?? I'd say half the state is on this site now!? Welcome to your new "fix house". We'll get you hooked up!
  14. My only real modification would be to rechamber in a lighter load. The .308 is more bullet than is needed for LE use. Most training is designed for less than 200 yards. I would downsize to 300Blk for ease of shooting and to cut a bunch more weight. I'd also down size the optic to a Leupold Mk8. A 1-8x scope is plenty for short range shooting.
  15. DAMN YOU CALIFORNIA AND YOUR STUPID NFA LAWS!!! While looking at the McMillan website, in search of lightweight stocks, I saw the ALIAS rifle system... The suppressed SBR version is almost EVERYTHING I asked for in a LE precision rifle... The piece is truly a work of art!
  16. Just a thought, The R-25 is a rifle focused for hunting. That might be why mil surp ammo doesn't feed and why good hunting ammo works. This could be the difference between a good match .308 and a 7.62x51. We don't see it common around here, but then again there aren't many hunting designated rifles built by mfg's. I've always been a fan of the R-25 and the design features implemented in their rifles.
  17. That's good stuff there
  18. Looks like fun!
  19. Ok, I shot Taccom3G an email today. We'll see if he's interested. Cross your fingers.
  20. She's nice, but I want to see the 300Blk SBR too!!
  21. My buddy has the 870 bullpup kit. I think he's trying to sell it?
  22. Have you tried shooting "quality" off the shelf ammo yet? Grab a box of Federal Premium and see if this happens. It's quite possible your rifle just doesn't like the heavy stuff. How does the 147gr mil surplus stuff shoot in your rifle?
  23. ASC mags in general aren't worth a damn. I have them for my 762x39 build.
