  1. I suggest one of these. They are LR-308 specific. 15.5" JP/VTAC 12.5" JP/VTAC
  2. Besides getting into the fact that DD makes one of the best off the shelf guns when you measure BANG vs BUCK... MSRP is generally always (except during gun buying crazes :cookoo: ) 10%-20% higher than the actual sale price... Daniel Defense rifles generally run about $1500-$1800, then add $900-$1000 for a good can...That's still about $2500, which is close to where you would have been if you did it all from scratch. Plus you only have to wait on the one stamp, and time is worth a lot more than $ for certain guys.
  3. The front brake it NOT your friend... Holy smokes!
  4. GAWD I LOVE THEM... I'd give them two thumbs up, but only one hand is available right now...
  5. Who else here wants to go to Tucson308's work and look at and play with all his machines and gizmo's?
  6. You just need the mag release button and the mag release spring (maybe not the spring, depending on which bullet-button they used). The button is the same from 308AR to AR15... I'm pretty sure the spring is slightly longer, but it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong. This is usually where 98Z5V or SurvivalShop pipe in to correct me and fill in the blanks. <thumbsup>
  7. Ohhhh Tooooom.... Since the suppressor is permanently attached the barrel it is only ONE tax stamp... Kinda makes it affordable ;) I'm just sayin' <lmao>
  8. 98 said it first, we all agree with you here. The price gouging has gone rampant, and it has been recognized by everyone on this site. That being said, it's still good to hear people are fed up with this price bullying. Let's hope for a better February and a lot of good stuff from SHOT '13! <thumbsup>
  9. Yes! It's about a $5 fix.
  10. Those are some quality grips. Superb lookin pistol!
  11. 98 is right (again) Instead of a standard mag release, you get the Bullet Button assembly.
  12. Sorry Center19, if you want your rail height to match, 98Z5V already pointed out there is ONLY ONE rail to match and it is made by DPMS. If you don't mind that the rails are off alignment, then any LR308 handguard work... Or you could try another tubular style like you have, like the JP/VTAC handguard.
  13. I was going to say Wilson also. Phase 5 battery assist fits many 308s as well.
  14. +1, soak that sumbitch in a bowl of mobile1 full synthetic for a few hours.
  15. Where did you order the carrier from. It looks like you're still missing a few screws and pins.
  16. I have (I should say MY WIFE HAS) an '07 6.7l turbo diesel in a 2500 Laramie. It's also riding on 37" Toyos. We've hauled just about everything for miles and MILES, over snowy mountains and through sandy deserts... even to Mexico and back. Nothing's more fun than smokin a 600cc off the lines and letting that turbo unspool in his face. My wife thinks its hysterical to race streetbikes in the truck.
  17. Cans require to be registered. The 'oil filter' suppressor still has a registered and serialized adapter. If I'm not mistaken, there was a huge crack down by Feds on home built cans. I don't remember all the details.
  18. Your LGS is partially right. The barrel length doesn't make it a pistol. The lack of a stock does. A buffer tube is not considered a stock. It serves a function completely seperate and unrelated to the job of a stock. A pistol buffer tube is generally shorter and fatter than a standard tube. This is to prevent a stock from being placed on it. I believe Feds say you can't have a forward vertical grip attached. The Magpul AFG is a grey area accessory. Just putting a short barrel upper on your AR is a big no-no. The AR lower receiver must be registered as a pistol.
  19. I sold a Chinese SKS for a buddy last month. It went for $200. Cali is flooded with SKS rifles.
  20. Anyone else notice that despite the name, there sure are a lot of people over there that prefer AK's vs AR's I have an account there, but it's mainly to look at gun porn. I doubt I have more than a dozen posts.
  21. I love watching that guy.
  22. SnipersHide.com has a lot of bolt shooters. They get a lot of info.
  23. I have both. My 14.5" .223 has a midlength Adams Arms piston conversion in it. My 14.5" 300Blk has a midlength DI with a NiB coated BCG. Because my DI has a NiB coated BCG, I run it practically dry. The carbon has nothing to stick to. I can clean my DI with a quick wipe from a rag or paper towel. I can't say one is more reliable than the other. Ive never has an issue with either. The piston system is heavier and more expensive. The DI was easier to assemble/build.
  24. An AR with a bullet button and a magazine sled would be considered a single shot rifle. They do that here (Cali) all the time.
