  1. Their "free float piston" sounds very similar to the PWS and LWRC pistons. I wonder how they are the "first"?
  2. Funny, that actually is my wife's truck. I just bought a Subaru for my wife so she wouldn't commute to work in that truck anymore. 11 miles to the gallon, at $4.75 per gallon, was killing me. It was cheaper to buy the new car and drive that, than it was to fill the beast anymore. My last little commuter was a Mitsubishi, but that has gone the way of the Dodo bird. It's nice having a company car (motorcycle) to take home, and a company gas card to fill it. All I have left is my old huntin' rig. She's in 1,000 pieces right now getting a bunch of new parts. Just finished the 6" lift and almost done with the interior remodel. New seats came in the mail recently too.
  3. How cute! It looks just like a real truck.... Only smaller! <lmao>

    Hello

I have to warn you, depending on how my first term goes after 2016, I may not be ready to give up my office in 2020. Just wanted to give you a fair heads up.
  5. Buy the 51T or the Blackout.... Then send the device with a check for $155 to BattleComp... You'll get this in return.....
  6. It was mainly to give an idea for the cost of replacement parts... Considerably affordable!
  7. HERE is the link for the AR-10B part... HERE is the link for the whole AR-10B catch assembly. I'm hoping that with this meager little review, "someone" may be looking into amending the Armalite.com product list. You can also just call in... That's pretty much what I did.
  8. Don't take it apart! You got a steal of a deal on the rifle, make something of it! Sell the upper assembly (save the BCG for yourself) as it is. You'll get about $400 for it! Now go buy EXACTLY what you want! The $400 will cover about 50-80% of a new build (depending on your taste).
  9. Disclaimer to the above: I do not own a JP Rifle, nor have I shot their products. I am, however, greatly impressed with their design and concepts. My opinion is solely based on my loose grasp of physics and novice level of knowledge towards AR parts and compatibility.
  10. While looking at the JP website and the design of their rifles... The Low Mass Operating System appears to be dependent on the controlled gas. The LMOS isn't just the bolt carrier, but also the buffer system. By limiting the gas through an adjustable gas block, and then lightening the amount of weight being forced through the weapon cycle, you can reduce the recoil significantly. That was their ultimate goal.... However, they did this all at the cost of reliability! They even state that they do NOT put the LMOS in their LE/Combat rifles. This is strictly a bench gun/competition enhancement. They do not recommend using the LMOS when every single shot MUST count. I think combining the LMOS carrier and the heavy buffer was an accident waiting to happen. They work fine together now... but buffer is easily 2x-3x the weight of the LMOS buffer. That is a considerable amount of weight behind skeletonized parts.
  11. Yeah my first thought was a bit more morbid, and equally cat unfriendly. Glad to see our members have more tact than to post designs for enforcing the feline DMZ in their backyard.
  12. You need to mount something like this onto your gas block. http://yhm.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=132 I think Imschur used one of these on one of his rifles?? To the best of my knowledge, all Troy Battle Sights are designed to be mounted on the same plane.
  13. Happy birthday brother!
  14. racerken70 has a point. Check out this link to a member who has that same build. http://308ar.com/forum/308ar-parts/extractor-broke/?topicseen
  15. I'm wondering if the heavy buffer forcing the light weight carrier had some influence?
  16. Hoping to hit the range next weekend.
  17. If you're willing to spend the $$$ SI Defense and NEMO Arms both make a NiB .308 BCG
  18. Btw, The Rainier 16" is a MIDLENGTH gas system
  19. The 3D printed one I saw looked really good. The guy who made the complete 22lr has a GREAT step by step blog on how he broke it and fixed it repeatedly. I think the gun is more JB weld than it is 3D printed plastic. <lmao> The CNC plastic one I saw was made on a home CNC machine. The machine only can make an 8x8x12 object, which was just enough to make a lower. He had limited money and the plastic he used was consistent with a synthetic cutting board material. He said he mounted it and shot it a few times just to show it worked.
  20. Robocop1051 2016.... Look for it!
  21. Oooh, look at you getting all fancy and technical! :o @Blaz, pay no attention to MrRaley. He just 'copy and pastes' stuff he reads on FPSRussia and NutnFancy blogs. <lmao> You can also check the individual barrel makers as well. It all depends on how much you were looking to spend (please don't say you were hoping to stay under $200!). $275-$375 will buy you most of the normal barrels. Custom barrels usually run from $500 to $1,000 (mine was $950), but they generally come with a matched bolt. Krieger Barrels, Satern Barrels, Mike Rock Barrels, YM Barrels, White Oak Armament Barrels, Noveske barrels... just to name a few makers. Also check out companies like Si-Defense, LOKI Weapons Syst., LMT and LaRue.
  22. Blazer11 should have mentioned if he needed an Armalite or DPMS/KAC barrel...
  23. I cant wait <thumbsup>
  24. Just remember to bring those $10 bills... I'm not accepting any checks! 8)
