  1. We talked about this a while ago, but I think it's a topic worth bringing up again. Check out these guys... http://www.pcpammo.com/ and these guys... http://extremepolymer.blogspot.com/ Maybe check out a video from Shot Show 2012 while you're at it?? http://www.youtube.com/embed/O88oyavhCUg
  2. It would be nice if they made a polymer adapter vs the aluminum model. The weight is beginning to look excessive. I also see no reason why a 5.56 upper can't be configured to use the 7.62 buffer system. Just make sure you have plenty of gas going through the gun, to push the heavier buffer and spring. I'll bet a 5.56 upper works really well with a sound suppressor on it. Just a guess...
  3. I don't mind the adapter portion. It allows you to use already produced AR15/M4 type uppers. That is a huge bonus! I don't like that they couldn't figure out the buffer/buffer-spring difference. Mil and LE guys are notorious for losing and breaking things. The less amount of parts we need to be responsible for, the better. I still love the rifle. I have no doubt that, in time, a new buffing system will come available.
  4. That's interesting.
  5. I actually know nothing of how the CM901 works. Is the adapter attached to the upper? Or is it a 3rd part you need to carry around? The quick change feature isn't looking so quick any more.
  6. Have you tried putting a 233/556 upper on it yet? I'm interested on how that work out too!
  7. You've already seen my white tux!!!
  8. :bat:
  9. When my uncle (CSM-H) takes pictures like that, I refer to it as his "Ranger Smile".
  10. Apex CNC makes a low profile "modular" handguard.
  11. 4 weeks is a drop in the bucket! I'm dumping out my change dish now (and checking Cali law on Armalite ownership). I might be in the market again?!?!
  12. That's the one I posted... I like it a lot too. A little bit of furniture swapping, and I think it'll compete against all others in it's catagory. Simple. Lightweight. Versatile. Best of all, you aren't putting stretch marks on your wallets trying to afford it. (Although, I can say the exact same thing about the DPMS Recon... I really like that one too!)
  13. I barely have enough money to fill a 20 round mag. I don't like to think about filling a 50 rounder! I might have to buy more 5 round mags just for the satisfaction of having a full mag. <lmao>
  14. Build it, and you will spend $2k+ getting all the exact parts you want. You'll go overboard on parts. We all do. You will also need to buy all the 308AR specific tools and equipment needed for the build (mainly the receiver blocks and barrel wrench). Buy a decent ARMALITE or a DPMS for about $1500 (I highly suggest these two models for what you are looking for).... Learn the rifle, and make modifications as you see fit... over time.
  15. You gotta watch out for those shady Choate tubes, right :hornet: :hornet: <lmao>
  16. Are we adding riding to our Oct festivities? I want a shot at that beast!!
  17. Like 98 said, many of us got the email directly from Mega (or Dave Bransen) on the same day. It was sad news, but I'm sure that whatever Mega comes out with, will be worth it. This could have been a great opportunity to release something off the charts. A simple "poor us, we can't sell our product because of the big corp lawyers" business ploy might be at work here. We all take Mega's side and poo-poo the big mean LMT. Meanwhile Mega releases a product others may have ignored otherwise, because it was too "new" and unknown.
  18. Yeah, that's happening. I need another BCM Gunfighter too. I'll probably go for a BCM grip while I'm at it.
  19. Finally made it out to the range. Rem 115gr FMJ. 14.7" barrel w/ BABC Magpul MBUS 50 yards -5 rounds standing -10 rounds sitting at a bench Sorry I didn't have time to set up for accuracy. This was more for speed. This was also my first time at this range and I wasn't properly prepared. The rest of my rounds were spent shooting a diet coke can. (there's a few rounds on the far right that crept in from shooting the 7.62x39)
  20. Nice grab. <thumbsup> >:D I hope you pinch your fingers on it! >:D
  21. SI Defense just charged me for the stainless steel NiB coated BCG I ordered back in April 2011... Proof Research just called me about some Cerakote options for my upper. Carbon fiber wrap is complete... UPDATE COMING VERY SOON (Can this really be happening?)
  22. You can get a longer handguard, with a little bit of effort and ingenuity. Check out the JP Rifle 15.5" Modular handguard HERE Then modify the above to accept the JP Rifle Handguard Extension, found HERE You'll end up with something like THIS (I have no clue how SSGT Dan Horner did this to his 300Blk)
  23. Oh, I think there is at least one person in here that may be interested... It's all in the name <thumbsup>
  24. Just find a pic you like and let me know. I'll make it work for you <thumbsup>
