    Hello

    welcome from mass
  18. http://www.precisionreflex.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=186728&CAT=4814 it will mount flush to your round rail <thumbsup>
  19. it's not going to happen, not the normal way. sorry, but i think you should have a gunsmith remove the blind pin on the muzzle for you properly. then he can take it apart the right way, and I suggest you pick out a rail and have a lo-pro gas block to put on under the rail. you can then mount your rail and light to it. i would like to have been able to suggest a few alternatives for you, using the original, but i'm not sure how you will like the look with the short carbine tube. one way is to drill the tube, and add something like these, and you mount your stuff, unfortunately the bi pod will be close to your receivers. http://www.precisionreflex.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=186728&CAT=4814 some thing else would be if you can find a free float rail the ft sight post cut out for the .308ar, I haven't seen one yet for the large platform, but it can't hurt to call around. this is an example of one for the ar15 http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=2975 we'll keep trying...
  20. I'm in westfield, exit 3 off the pike, Albany is about 90 mins west.
  21. you will have to remove the front sight post first. do you have roll pin punches or straight punches? they will be a key tool in the removal of the ft sight
  22. thats true, we have a lot of ukrainians and eastern block peoples here, and one has to wonder how many are actually legal.
  23. hi new guy! i too am behind enemy lines in wmass. nice move with the wife, mine likes guns, not shopping, and i've used up all my tricks, so any new ones are always appreciated. now to your questions. the tube itself is mount to a barrel nut, which is screwed onto the receiver threads. the tube can be removed with a strap wrench, like one to remove oil filters from cars. it may be difficult and heat can be applied if needed. the barrel nut does require a special wrench, but that doesn't need to be remove if you change the rail, so don't worry. the railed fore end should go on to the barrel nut either two ways. 1. it will "clamp" around the barrel nut, coming in two pieces the will screw together enclosing the barrel nut and have anti rotational tabs. 2. the rail you choose may have a proprietary nut, in which case you will have to remove the gas tube, take the barrel nut off, replace it all, and done. their may be other options, but these are the most common. i suggest finding the rail you want and then we can help you from there. start shopping! and get the wife involved, never know where she can help get a sale price!
  24. parts are scarce, so keep searching! the forward assist is a ar15 part. I checked my parts places I have in my favorites, couldn't find any upper parts kits in stock, but keep plugging away. For your buffer equipment, give clint at heavy buffers.com a call, he has awesome stuff, his heavy buffers take out some recoil and are some super quality parts, and he usually has the tubes in stock too if you ask!
